I live in a flat share with 1 other woman, we each have our own bedroom and bathroom but share a kitchen/living room.
Also, our flat is in the loft of a family home, so we share the entrance and hallway with the family(our landlords).
I really don't want my room mate and landlord to be involved in my claim for Local Housing Allowance but am confused about a question on the Housing Forms:
"For housing benefit and council tax benefit, people who live with you as part of your household apart from your partner or children, are called non-dependents. You will need to give their details in this section.
Do not tell us about people who you only share a hall or toilet with you and are not a member of your family.
Do any adults usually live with you and your partner?"
I mean, I only met these people 3 weeks ago when I moved in, why should they be telling me their birthdate and income?
So what do I answer...yes or no?
