How can I tell how far along I am?

Hi Mamas,
I have a 14mo daughter who is still breastfeeding so this pregnancy is a very welcomed surprise!! (We had decided on NTNP when she hit 1 yr but my cycle hadn't returned so I didn't think I was ovulating!) I've done 8 (yes 8!) Tests since last night and I am DEFO pregnant!!
I just have NO idea how far along I am! Any idea how I can tell?

A dating scan is your best bet.

A clearblue test will give you a good idea Congratulations! I have just found out I am pregnant and also have a 14 month old

Oh Yay! I am SO excited! I'll get a clearblue dating tomorrow! I figured a scan but thought it might be too early for an accurate scan. Im SO excited!!!!

I'm not showing just yet but I'm about 20lbs overweight so I doubt I'll show for a while.

Just to add, if you're over 4 weeks (or could be 6) then a clear blue digital wont be 100% accurate. I think after a certain gestation (or technically amount of hormones) it stops changing the number of weeks. Hope that makes sense.

I'd go to the midwife and say you have no idea and they'll send you for a scan

oh congrats! a friend of mine was breastfeeding as well when she had her bfp she went for a scan and was 20 weeks she put down the tiredness to looking after her DD

were abouts in Ireland are you, most of the hospitals have a epu or emergency room and you can ring the epu for an appointment they normally come up very quickly with in a day or two, or call in to the emergency room, I know you can do this in the coombe for sure or seeing as this will be your second baby you can ring the hospital and explain to them and they might be able to get you in for a scan good luck

You could try a digital test, but I took mine and I was actually around 7 weeks, so it just said 3+, I guessed I was 8 weeks today but I'm 11 so the scan is likely your best bet!

Ultrasound is your best bet. I'm seeing so many ladies from baby club and trimester from with my son in here now! My son will be 16 months on the 11th!

I am! I only found out a few days ago so I'm also paranoid as can be haha. I don't see my OB until July 1st when I'll be 8 weeks along so this month is going to drag on.

I found a new baby club the day I got that BFP haha. I spent so much of my last pregnancy in my old baby club.

I know how you feel! I felt nervous until I was finally able to hear my bubs heartbeat at home for reassurance It really sucked cause I accidently found out at 3 weeks instead of 4 so it's DRAGGING! Didn't help my body ovulated late and put me another week behind I have my 12 week scan on the 3rd!
Baby club still getting crazy?! Anyone from the old trimester still hang around there a lot?

I saw my GP today, well, I saw the locum coz my GP was on hols. So no mention of an early scan so I may just call the EPU tomorrow myself and see if they will do a dating scan.

na sure even if they wrote a letter you would still be waiting, better if you ring your self explain you have no idea how far along you are! have you had any symptoms at all what made you test

None that wouldn't pass for being a hormonal breastfeeding mother.
We'd planned on TTC once my cycles returned. We'd been NTNP since DD was 1 year. So Id ordered some OPKs and PG tests online and when they arrived I just wanted to try them out.... DELIGHTED. Going to ring the EPU in the morning. x

None that wouldn't pass for being a hormonal breastfeeding mother.

Well my friend had none either really, she fel tired but put that down to working part time and looking after her DD good luck and hopefully they can fit you in tomorrow or monday
