Hi girls

I wanted to ask you , as you all know from previous threads max and I had BF problems from the start ..

Now hes almost 4 months and still gets the boob before each meal .. but its dawned on me that I will have to stop one day and for som reason i fear that day

what is that keeps me from stopping ? i think its the bonding thing and the fact thats its so good for him ..but then again in parties im the only one not drinking because i don have enough to pump out and dont want my milk running out what is wrong with me ??

Absolutely nothing! For the first year a babies primary nutrients should come from breast milk. Solid foods are just supposed to be a supplement. You are doing good for your baby!!

sam what problems did u have?
i ask because i am having difficulty bf too & am fnding it hard at times to stay positive!

You'll know when you are ready, I certainly did. I fed Charlotte for 7 months and Tom for 8.

In the meantime, don't worry about stopping if you are comfortable with the status quo.

I plan to go for at least a year, I love BFing. You will know when the time is right.

I keep saying to myself that I plan on bf for a year, only because it is very good for the baby and also very inexpensive. I am doing well with it though. I pump while I am at work so I can keep up his daycare supply and feed him by breast when I have him. I just recently had surgery and the day before I went under, I pumped as many bottles as I could to get him through until I could feed him again. Same goes with drinking, if you know ahead of time, it gives you time to prepare, then you can pump and dump until everything is out of your system. I haven't drank yet (but haven't been able to). If you ask me, it's too much work to pump all those bottles for one night of drinking.

Anyways, I don't know what kind of problems you are having, but I do know that the more you pump, your supply will gradually increase (supply and demand).

Im the same.....

the thing thats stopping me from stopping.... is that bonding time and i really enjoy holding her close...the fact ive paid out for a breastpump... sounds silly i know... and the calories it burns!!

But then im like .... she never gets enough from one booby feed so Im messing around after warming expressed breast milk... i get painful boobs when she hasnt fed for a while and im not at home to use my pump!! I leak like mad and even when shes feeding milk trickles all the way down my belly, so its quite messy...!!

what to do ... what to do

I agree, you will both know, don't worry about it now :)

Dont worry! You will know when its the right time for you and your baby. Everyone is different, everyone stops at different times for different reasons. Different people also have varying thresholds for stress and pain, which is why alot of women stop earlier... Which DOES NOT make them bad women at all...

If you are happy and comfortable, then go for it.

Well its been 3 days now where max takes the boob drinks for about 5 min and then sqrims like mad and cries and dosent take the boob back whats wrong with him ? he dosent ahve gas as he well lets it all out with no shame lol dose he not want anymore ..ive tried new positions and all

It only takes Bella 5 mins to eat. Maybe he's full. Have you tried just giving him a pacifier, he could just want to suck and not milk.

well the thing is i know hes not full cause he wants more but gets too upset ! my boobs never actully filled him up and pumping i only get 2 onz :( hence why hes been eating fomula since day 3 of his life ..its been about 1 month hes eating fruits and vegies too ? mabey hes not wanting my milk due to that ?
