Is it like a regular probe as normal, or is it internal?

Cos I don't know how they can get so detailed from the outside/normal probe??!

Thanks in advance :)

LOL it's a normal probe. Well, I'm having my 3d/4d scan in two weeks and it bloody better be an external probe as I haven't seen my bkini line for weeks!!!

Yes they are external. I was told by a pregnancy clinic at 6 weeks that they cannot do internal ones if they do not have an actual doctor that works there or something like that. They don't have the medical qualifications to be sticking things in vaginas I guess.

Hi, most scanning people are professionals doing a bit of extra work outside the NHS.
But the machines they use are for external use only (unless you go for a really early scan) TBH they re usually using better equipment than the NHS because they can afford it.

have fun.x

It's the same abdominal ultrasound they use for 2D. I think it always starts with a 2D anyway and then they switch view.

as others have said, its just a normal external scan x
