How do you deal with the "so when are you having a baby," question?

I'm 46 now....people stop bothering to ask you.....

Occasionally someone may say to me, who doesn't know me that well, 'why didn't you want kids then?'

I just try and change the subject. My sisters have stopped asking me about it, I know they are trying to be nice, they both have kids. I feel like I am being pitied, I don't like that feeling.

Well i made the stupid mistake of letting people know we were ttc no.3 so i get this question asked all the time! The people that are close to me don't ask as they know what is going on now but the outsiders still do and my reply to them is generally SOON HOPEFULLY , And i try my best to end the conversation there x
