Atm my lo is having a breakfast and dinner, I usually wait until an hour after he has had a bottle until I give him his food.
I was just wondering does everyone do this or give good and bottle together and if so do you give less bottle? How much less?
You get so much different advice/opinions you don't know what to do sometimes x

I know this isn't helpful but you will work out what works best for your LO.

For us, whilst LO was still relying on milk for his main nutrition (you will know when they aren't as they begin refusing bottles even when hungry and cry until you feed them lol), I think we used to give a small meal around an hour after his bottle. When they drop milk feeds it becomes easier and honestly, your baby will let you know what they want.

I'm not sure how it works with TW to be honest as I have no experience but we just followed LO's cues!

Thank you, I guess I'll just go with the flow and see how it goes then :) x

LO shouldn't reduce milk intake for ages yet so don't worry about reducing bottles :)

We started off giving milk first because milk is still the only thing they really need at 6 months (and will be the main source of nutrition for another 6 months+ after that). Once LO seemed to be eating solids for hunger rather than just exploring, we started offering meals first then milk later. I think that was around 10 months old or so. If a 6 month old was eating solids and dropping bottles, I would definitely make sure to offer milk first as you don't want them dropping bottles so early really.

They'll get most of their nutrition from breast milk or formula for the first year, so ideally prioritize bottles over solid food for now. We offered milk first about an hour or two before meals until she no longer wanted it. For instance, at 6 months when we started weaning our daughter was having milk at about 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm (and then during the night as well as needed). We didn't start off with 3 meals a day right away, but they were roughly 8am, 12pm and 5pm once we did. She eventually didn't want the 11am bottle, so I moved it to after lunch (about 1-2pm). Eventually because this was so close to her afternoon bottle, that one around 3pm moved later and started to decrease. Eventually she wasn't interested in it altogether and our day now looks more like milk at 7am, 3pm, and 7pm and meals at 8am, 12pm and 5pm, with morning and/or afternoon snacks as well most days. It just happens on its own, but I didn't see much change at all until about 9 months and she is now 14 months (and I don't expect her milk intake to reduce again anytime soon). Just give it time and let it happen. It will as they start to take in more food, but it's a gradual process.
