So with our first, i could sneak in naps when he napped.

Now our lo is over 3, and he doesn't nap anymore. So when baby comes, how will I catch up on sleep?

Dh has to be up pretty early for work, he did help with our first during the night, but this time it will mostly be me. So if i'm up every couple hrs at night, how do i find time in the day to nap? I can't nap while ds is up, i can't force him for a nap, they'll share the same room.

If i wanted to catch up when dh came home, it wouldn't seem fair to have him come home from a long day of work just to care for the lo for hrs.

Hoping she is as good a sleeper as ds was, i could get about 6 hrs within the first few weeks!

You don't :) you just get on with it and soon adjust! They will occasionally nap together and the feeling of peace and quiet is unbelievable!

My eldest was 20 months old when my youngest was born, and while she still had a nap,, they would NEVER nap simultaneously. I just had to carry on without resting, because that was the only option. If you throw yourself into it during the day though, you do forget how tired you are. It's only when I first wake up in the morning, or when I lie down to BF my LO that I feel tired.

Simply...we dont. Its harder with lack of sleep but we work it between hubby and I that we get naps when the other is still about.

Yeah...you really will just get used to less sleep. Thankfully, my LO started out sleeping really well at night but nights like last night when she just wouldn't sleep are rough! But really just have to get on with the day and hope tonight is better. My toddler is 2 and doesn't always nap and when he does, it is rarely at the same time as our LO. I don't think it is fair either to really ask DH to do a whole lot when he gets home as he works and goes to school full time so is busy as well.

I'm so busy I forget I've had no sleep

you dont ive got 2 under 2 and a 6 year old no chance of a nap hear :nope: im allways nearly falling asleep on m yfeet you just have to get used to it and go to bed when the kids do

Yup have to agree with other posters, you dont lol. Although saying that if your toddler will be going to pre school any time soon you may be able to nap when baby naps then ;) i did today.. :haha: xx
