This year I started early, and started buying bits and bobs from July onwards, I've also got a couple of catalogue purchases. In total I've paid about £250 upfront and about £150 on catalogue, which will be paid off by March next year.
I started buying in september, and have bought little bits every week. Jacks almost done, and i have a few others bought, im about 70% done id say, but still got a lot more money to find.
I buy bits and pieces through out the year and then spend some Nov/Dec....I have gotten smarter since having Lakai...because I use to buy all at once. This year I have boughten things as I've seen them! Much smarter!
I start buying early, usually sept. I also use catalogues. This year I saved my Tesco vouchers and have £56 to come off my food shopping. I also join the christmas club in my butchers and pay my turkey off. I also collect Boots points they help with all my little stocking fillers. Oh and mother-in-law usually gives us ab out £500 as an early christmas present to help us out.
I said I would start early this year but not even started
we set up a savings account at the start of the year but had to spend it when we put the house on the market last month still have a bit in! and we have been saving our tesco vouchers to help with shopping bill (even though tescos is a rip off, prefer asda anyday!) but we spent them at the weekend lol! so good job OH has a decent bonus at work coming up so we are going to blow it all next weekend and hopefully get most stuff
I save all my nectar points to use on the xmas food shop i have about £70 worth this year which is a huge help. I also try and start shopping early i am normally done by september but this year with having Billy in september i have only started in october so we will have to tighten our belts and people will have to have smaller gifts this year. We do the kids first and any money left gets divided up and we buy pressies for everyone else with their share which will be about a fiver this year
im really sad and start getting stocking fillers and bits in jan sales, save vouchers with park, tenner a week and use cash for the rest, this year i used my tesco vouchers to pay for us all to see snow white at bristol hippodrome, cant wait
This year has been easier with me working and earning hubby has had his present already just got to sort the few final shopping bits and 4 kids (who dont know what they want) to sort out we normally get them argos vouchers but they are getting akward ages for that now as for next year im starting to pay park for hampers and vouchers owe £1399 and pay them £27.99 a week but going to pay it monthly so next year will be sorted as also going to start putting some in savings account xxxx
We just pay for things as we buy them. No credit card. No savings. I try and spread the purchases out in the run up to Christmas. We get given about £200 of Asda cards each Christmas so tend to spend them on DVDs and things as presents for each other as well as fancy Christmas food. We don't spend a lot on each person though we've a lot of people to buy for.
agreed. I would never spend more than I can afford to spend.
I've been off work for 2.5 months now and my GF is a student so not much extra cash there...we agreed to just buy something small or just go out and do something fun.
Not buying too much for my family...just a little something
