How do you pay for christmas?

SO & I aren't big on celebrating Christmas so all we're doing is having dinner with the in-laws (his parents) and we still have to see about whether or not we can have his son with us.

i buy throughout the year and hit clearance sales and stuff. I'm totally done shopping for my parents and my mother in law and the baby, I might pick up a couple other little things for the hubby if I have the cash...and for Dylan, my 6 year old, the only things I have left to buy are his "santa" presents...We wrap all the presents and put them under the tree early, so to keep him believing in santa, my hubby sneaks out and gets 2 presents our son really, really wants...we wrap them on Christmas eve in totally different wrapping paper than what we used for the other presents so they look like they came from somewhere else, and we just write "from santa" on them....he totally buys it and it's soooo cute to see how innocent he still is :)

This year the secret presents are a belt blaster nerf gun and a crayola crayon maker...

As far as food, we don't host dinner, so we just bring a couple sides and desserts so it isn't expensive at all.

I buy through the year and save a bit (but I'm no good at saving.) I've finished LO this year and just need to get stuff for family, but I'm not spending much on them.

I get vouchers, which is £16 a month for £200 :D

Can I ask a question? With those Park vouchers how much do you have to pay a week or month? x

It depends how many you want. I get £200 and pay £4.44 a week. x

im going to get £450 for next xmas which is £10 a week

Donna im getting £675 worth and ment to be £15 a week but it works out how many weeks you have to pay it from when you order til 1st nov 2010 xxxx

I put £100 away each month. so end up with a nice tidy sum to buy pressies with.

I also save my tesco vouchers for my xmas food or it helps to buy the alcohol.

I've done my xmas shopping for this year and everything is all wrapped so i will have an xtra £100 ready for next year to start:happydance:

I've bought things through the year and also got saving stamps for morrisons and some on a savings card for asda so my food shopping is payed for and i have been able to get some other things. x

My and my DH have seperate accounts. I get all the child benefit and tax credits and he gets his wages and any other money that comes in. So when it comes to Christmas, because I get all the kids money, I pay for it out of my account.

Last year I scraped through in December somehow and got all their presents. However this year because they are so much more aware of what is going on they've been demanding a lot more on what they want. So it looks like my Next account will have to take a hammering and I'll have to pay it back in the new year.
