I always thought it was ex-zay-vee-ah but than i met a guy who pronounces his name zay-vee-ah...which i think is cuter...

I'd like to know how you guys say it

I've never heard it pronounced other than zay-vee-ah.

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but there is another pronunciation... Zoo-vee-ay.

I'd like to know this too, as it's one of our top boy names.

I know the X-men series used X-avier, but I think it maybe it is supposed to be Zay-vier...

I'm not sure which we'll go for, I'd assume most people now would pronounce the X because of the comics/cartoons/films....

Zay-vier for me

Love the name Xavier :cloud9:

Hi!! Xavier is the name we have chosen if our yellow bump comes out blue!! We have chosen to pronounce it x-ay-vier. Loving it!!

on home and away its pronounced zay vee er. As far as i know its like x is s

Other - Za-vee-ay (first 'a' is shortened vowel sound, like you say in bat, cat, rat etc,). That's how I've always heard it said in France, and it's a French name as far as I'm aware.... The X is meant to be silent.

My son's middle name is Xavier .. It is pronounced Ex-Zay-Vee-Er! Others could pronounce it differently though!

i think its ex zay vee ah because you say the X at the begining but think it depends on where people are from and how they would pronounce it x

I would pronounce it Zay-vee-ah but I've also heard it pronounced Zav-ee-air and Ex-zay-vee-ah

Love the name anyway!! :)

I say Za-vee-ay. I know two people called this and that's how they say it (one is French, the other British but French parents). I have heard people saying Zay-vee-er. I never ever heard anyone say ex-zay-ver-er before this thread so you learn something new everyday!
