How do you work out correct formula?

Hi, just wondered how everyone that is ff their prem baby works out the amount of formula to give as neither the age or weight adds up. I have kind of been making it up as I go along but my lo was on 150mls which was meant to average 5 bottles a day and he was still having that 3 hourly so was actually having 8 bottles. I have upped it to 180mls today to try and get him 4 hourly but was concerned I may overfeed him if that's possible! I'm not overly concerned as he is gaining weight and seems happy but was curious on what others have done as I have not had any help from hv. He is on SMA Staydown if that makes a difference.

I have had to COMPLETELY ignore the tins! As long as he is putting on weight at a steady pace, then dont worry, just keep going.

If he's draining the bottles, offer an ounce extra. He doesnt need to take it, but its there if he wants it.

We did the same as Sb22, if they finished their bottle we would offer them more the next time! x
