Fold flats...I mean, how could I make my own? And what size would I have to make them if I were to give it a go? x

the nappy lady has a whole webpage on the different folds (in the sticky in my sig) but you can get flats really quiet cheaply which are edged.

if you brought the material it would work out more expensive and if you were cutting up towels etc you'd need to edge them all as the fabric frays really badly!!

flats tend to go quiet cheaply on ebay too.

here's some i've found if you think about them on a per nappy basis the larger ones £20 for 6 = £3.33 per nappy you then need wraps and nippas.

some people don't find flats as absorbent so they need more flats for more changes but you can do some folds with bulk the absorbency up in the middle. as they're also made from natural fibres they will take a while to build up their absorbency too. (6+ prewashes)
