im more ntnp so far. on my 4th or 5th cycle now. im in my 2 weeks wait stage. going to test near end july. for next cycle i want to do the temprature thing. can you guys give me advice please. what do i need. how do i do it?when do i strart?

Start on cd1. Test as soon as you wake up. Don't get up until you have taken your temp. Make sure you take it the same time everyday, even on the weekends. ( 6am for me, sucks on the weekends). I usually print off a blank chart and then when I get around to a computer i'll input it on www.mymonthlycycles.com or a lot of people use www.fertilityfriend.com. Both sites work really well. You can also keep track of cm, cp, bd, symptoms, ect.

You can print this chart off https://www.babycenter.com/0_blank-bbt-chart_7069.bc to use. I used a different chart because my temps ran way low to begin with so that chart didn't work for me. Just google blank bbt chart and you can find one you like.

GL!!!

this might sound strange but do you just take a normal themometer and take the temp like if you were checking if you have a fever?thanks i will check out the sites:)

You need a basal body thermometer. I got mine at CVS for like $10. You can go to any drugstore or get it online.

When you first start your period, up until the day of ovulation, your temperature is low. That's because of estrogen. Then the day after you ovulate, you will get a noticeable temp rise. It has to stay up for it to confirm ovulation. It will stay up until you get your period, unless your pregnant (then it will stay up). My charts are in my sig if you're interested in some examples. The crosshairs are when I ovulated.

Everything else dncr already answered :)

Yeah make sure to take your temp every morning at the same time after sleeping more than 4 hours. Also make note of any alcohol you consumed the night before or if you are sick because that makes a difference in your temps. A basal thermometer is different from a reg fever thermometer because it measures temperatures by 10th’s of a degree. Mine also remembers the last temperature you took so I don't have to write it down immediately when I'm in my sleep daze.

ok great i understand much better now. thank you so much ladies! im living in south africa our currency is in rands not $ so i dont know how much $8 might be and we dont have a walmart haha. but ill go to a chemist which i think is what you guys would call a drug store and ask for one there.

thank you. im going to be doing this for my next cycle and see how it corisponds with my cm. because i think i know when i ovulate but im not sure.

Does it make a huge difference if you take it a couple hours earlier/later?

Yes it can. Here is a website you can use that will adjust your temp for you based on the time you took it.

Yeah it can. With me it varies 00.10.. like if I took it an hour late and it said 97.74, I would put down 97.64.. If I took it an hour early and it was 97.34, I'd change it to 97.44. That seems to be the case with a lot of women.
