My sister had her first u/s today at 12 weeks 4 days and found out she lost a 2nd baby at some point. They don't know when it happened as there was no sign of baby so they think she already absorbed it. The other baby is measuring fine and they did all the NT measurements and took maternal blood for the free cell dna analysis to check for chromosomal abnormalities. My question is if something comes back abnormal will they know its from the existing baby and not left over dna from the baby she lost? What about the gender? Will she be able to trust the gender result or is there a possibility it could be the gender of the other baby?? She doesnt meet with her actual dr until Monday. Below is a pic of her u/s. You cant see the other baby but he/she was active had a good heartbeat was measuring normal
