What was the earliest time in your pregnancy that you got morning sickness?

I have read a lot of conflicting info about this. Some people are saying you can get it from one week and others saying the absolute earliest you should get morning sickness is week 4. I want to know what your experience has been and especially if you had very early morning sickness.

When did your morning sickness start?

What were your symptoms? (nausea etc)

How long did your morning sickness last? (if still going how long has it been?)

Any tips for handling morning sickness?

Thanks look forward to hearing from you xx

First pregnancy, MS started at about 6 weeks. This time, at about 4/5 weeks.

Both times, just really strong nausea. A few dry heaves and only one actual vomit. Really wish I could throw up though! :)

First time round it lasted until 16 weeks. I'm hoping for less this time.

I found that accupressure bands help. I've heard good things about preggers pops too.

With DS I had morning sickness once. Yes, I was very lucky.
This time around I'm right at 4 weeks and though I haven't actually gotten sick yet, I am noticing that I am more sensitive to tastes and smells and sometimes get a little nauseated. But, nothing major yet. I have read that it helps if you eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 meals a day. That's what I've been doing, so maybe it's helping. And never rush eating! I did that the other day and almost lost it! :sick:

I have only had morning sickness a few times out of the full 8 weeks although certain foods i used to love now make me feel nauseated. i have not had a need to find anything to help with it at the moment but theres still 32 more weeks to go so theres still time.. :| my mum always used ice when she was pregnant with my younger siblings. she found sucking it helped to distract her.

mine started 5 wks 6 days...i'm only 7+5 so i'm sure i have a while before it lets up. just reading about b6 and how it's supposed to help. i'm running to the drug store in 10 minutes and will call my dr when they open. i've been wearing the motion sickness bands all week and they do help but not 100%.

My morning sickness starts at 6 weeks and lasts either till the end of the pregnancy, or stimes if I am lucky it subsides in the second tri.

I feel fine, actually great until the 6 week mark and then bang I am sick. It is kind of scary because it really does seem like I am fine until the 6 week mark and then at the srtoke of midnight I turn into a sick pregnant woman. lol

I usually get H.G so the only stuff that is helpful to me is medication, lying in bed, eating very small amounts of food, and an IV bag every so often.

I think honestly I have tried everything under the sun to help it. I never did try those preggo pops though, but I heard they never really helped much anyways. I tried eating crackers, sucking on candy or popcicles. I tried eating tiny bits of food all day that were really bland. But when I get morning sickness pretty much everything grosses me out do to smell or taste ot texture, so I get sick anyways. One thing though that did help to get liquids into me was flavored powder you add to water. If water was plain I was more likely to be sick, but with a little bit of flavor I kept it down more. I have no idea why, but out of everything I tried besides medication was that.

Sorry for the rambles. I hope something out of all this was helpful. lol

I am 10 weeks and have not any sickness. Not everyone gets morining sickness some of us just get lucky.

I have had dry retching / heaving and food / smell aversions which started just before I got to week 5 and Im only 5.3!

When did your morning sickness start?
At about 7 weeks.

What were your symptoms? (nausea etc)
First it was nausea, then as the weeks went on, I was vomiting and dry heaving almost everyday. (8-9 weeks)

How long did your morning sickness last? (if still going how long has it been?)
I'm starting to feel better. I dry heave very seldomly now, and the nausea is a lot more managable now. (I am 10+5)

Any tips for handling morning sickness?
I find that peppermints really settle the gagging and nausea. Whenever I am at work and I am starting to feel sick, I will suck on peppermints. They really help me!

Good luck!

5 weeks 4 days.

Slight nausea for a day (I thought I was ill), then nauseous to a point of not wanting to eat at all (I still thought I was ill) and from day 2, actual vomiting. That's when I got a pregnancy test and knew I was pregnant.

I vomited for the last time when I was 16 weeks pregnant.

For several months I survived on a litre of water a day, plus one or two muesli bars (they are so dry that it was pretty much the only food my body couldn't push back out). And the only way I could keep from vomiting was to eat/drink little enough that my stomach couldn't push it out, so:

about a mouthful of water every 15-20 minutes;
never food at the same time as water, so if I'd had, say, a sip of water I had to wait 20 minutes before I could swallow a few mouthfuls of muesli bar, and then wait another 20-30 minutes before drinking water - otherwise it all came out;
if retching started then I needed to drink water to give it enough volume to be able to vomit it out because otherwise I would retch for 10 minutes and that was not only painful and tiresome but also made me very sore and tender for when I needed to drink/eat again.

Lost 4 kg (was fit to begin with) and nothing helped apart from drinking and eating very small amounts continuously throughout the day, and only very dry foods. I did not try anti-nausea medication though as my midwife said it is known to have side effect I wasn't comfortable with.

Usually vomited every second-third day but was nauseous every day all day.
