How far along would you need to be to know the gender of the baby?

I have a scan tomorrow and was wondering if I could know the gender this early?

Also is there anyone else on their 14th week and don't have any pregnancy symptoms? Like I do have some pains here and there but I don't have a bump yet and it barely feels like I'm actually pregnant!

I found out at 14 weeks, it can be done. Although some places won't even try to look until around week 16.

It was correct as I've had 4 scans since and still boy :)

Chances are, if you're going to get measurements done, your tech will tell you that it's way too early to determine and they won't make any guesses. I'm 16+6, had my sono yesterday, and right off the bat before even scanning she said "we will not know the gender today, if that's what you're waiting for. It's too early"...but then my baby flashed us and she predicted it will probably be a girl. So you never know. Just keep your own eye out and ask for lots of pictures, just in case they refuse to even guess! :flower: Plus, boys are always easier to tell than girls! So if they say something to the effect of "I think I see something, but I'm not sure" well...boys are pretty definitive so it could be girl?

I had a 12 week scan at a Bupa hospital, and the Consultant (not sonographer) said he could tell, went to look, but cord was in between legs, so couldn't tell!!

In uk min is 16w.
I would be vary before this stage 14w girl can look like a boy.

Found out with my DD at 20wks via anatomy scan. Found out with my DS at 13+6 via elective scan. Finding out with this baby at 14+3 via elective scan. :)

Here my sonographer won't guess until 16 weeks. She will speculate :) but said it's only 60-70 percent before then xx

It was pretty clear for us at 13w4d, but even though it was picture perfect I wasn't confident until my 18 week scan for confirmation. I'd say 16 weeks for a confident assurance. xx

Here in the uk well around me will only do it from 16 weeks not sure if you can get it done any sooner in the uk that I'm aware of ( I have my gender scan next week :) ) I know people In the US can have it done from 14 weeks x

I'm in the uk and found out at 14 weeks. :)
The place I go to for my private scans say they only check gender from 16 weeks, but I asked and she looked for me.

It can be done but I think it's too risky! Even between my scans at 18 and 21, 21 was SO much clearer. My tech guessed at 18, said she was sure but don't go painting rooms yet. I'm fine with waiting til 20 for a definite answer!

Too early? Odd.

I had mine at 16w and she was very clearly a girl. Those 3 lines couldn't have been more obvious :happydance:

My dr told me during my 14 week scan that if she had to guess, she would say boy, but not to hold her to it. At my 18 week anatomy scan, it was a boy! And I had another scan earlier this week at 22 weeks and I asked them to check again just for my own sake lol. Still a boy!

I think it depends, some places do it early like ultrasound techs that do only ultrasounds can usually tell kind of early. The place I was going to get a private scan at says 15 weeks for gender reveal. I got a scan a few days ago at the ER and asked out of curiosity if it was too early and the lady said yes, but my MIL said she'd get me a scan this weekend for DH's bday/fathers day and said they should be able to see the gender.

I'm in the UK and had 12 week scan then had to go back and be scanned by consultant at 14 weeks as his nuchal was high, she knew sex and asked if i wanted to know.. he was definitely a boy, then at 20 weeks sonographer checked again and he was still a boy lol!x

Well yesterday I had my appointment and I asked if it would be possible to know at this stage and Gyne told me that it would be best to see at 17 weeks and up so as to avoid silly mistakes. We'll see :)
Baby was moving a lot yesterday and she barely caught the heartbeat! haha he was soooo cute and the progress baby made was incredible! SO excited!!
