How far pregnant are you when you are testing?

Hi all just wondered how far along you are when you test? I know you put how long after ovulation but just wondered how many weeks that would make you pregnant? I only ask as I don't think im pregnant but i may test again as me and my oh had sex while i was ovulating which was about 4-5 weeks ago i tested last week and it was negative would a positive show up by now or is it worth testing again.

A test would normally show up positive by now. Are you normally irregular?

Yes I am always irregular plus I had a miscarriage just over a month ago but have still got pregnancy symptoms but if a pregnancy test would show up by now then its prob pmt symptoms?

I had a MC in late April of this year. My AF wasn't coming and I read up on it A LOT. MOst ladies have their cycles return to normal but the range of when you can expect it to turn up was 4 - 8 weeks after the MC. I tested around three weeks after with a hpt to see if any HCG was detectable and it was negative. Another three weeks later and I was getting very impatient so I tested again before making a DRs appointment to see what could be done to speed things long or check for retained tissue etc. I got a BFP!! I knew it must be new hormones rather than left over MC ones as the hpt was quite dark. Blood tests confirmed it and here we are 23 weeks later.

When you are testing you count it from DPO but when you are pregnant they calculate it from your last normal AF. In my case they estimated it on the blood hcg levels as I did not have a normal AF before getting pregnant.

I would test again if AF doesn't show up but your DR wil not be interested until 8 weeks or so down the track (unles you have abdo pain or temperatures in which case you should go immediately)
