How have things changed-what were you doing 10 years ago???

The old Quiggins was well the best, only been in the new one a couple of times. I took my mam in the old one once and she was amazed, she didn't wanna leave :haha:
I used to live in there!

It was, there was a pink shop upstairs that sold loads of beads and sew/iron on appliques. I could of spent all day in there :D

Ten years ago I was 11 turning 12 in year 7, can't believe how much things that have happened.

One thing that freaks me out is those poor three girls who were held captive in Cleveland, the amount of stuff that's happened in 10 years and they were locked up the whole time :(

Yes I did think about that when it hit the news, such a shame!

Quiggins! I loved that place but was also a bit scared!!

I loved the shop that sold all the beads and flowers for your hair!

To answer the question, 10 yrs ago I was 17 and was preparing for my AS levels. I had a job in as a chamber maid where I thought it was a really good idea to go in hungover and take advantage of the hotel toilets to throw up in. In good days we would eat the free biscuits. Then I'd meet my now hubby for a maccies and get my dad to pick me up!!
I was a pretty boring teenager really

I was in gay bars  and drinking lambrini with my best mate

Just read Laus post and found it completely hilarious, I did that word for word too  somehow got it into my head it was fine, I'd be cleaning the toilets anyways and I could live off the shortbread

10 years ago I was 17...

It was not a good time for me. At this age, I was struggling to both work and go to school full-time. I got really sick with repeated bouts of respiratory infections and things which would later get me diagnosed with dysautonomia but I didn't know that at the time. Lack of support from my parents, and financial aid being denied because I was living at my parent's house caused me to have to drop out of college. I was heartbroken as getting into the program had been a major dream of mine. (Had gotten into the music program, and NEVER thought I would get in as I had never taken any lessons and was terribly shy) To be honest, I felt completely lost at this time and had no idea where I'd end up.

I wish I could hug my 17 year old self and tell myself how good I'd have it now... :flower:

10 years ago I was only 11 haha. In my first year of secondary school! A lot has changed!!

I was 16 and just about to become pregnant with my son!! I was in France at the time.

I was seventeen and spending seven months in the hospital for my depression and eating disorder counting down the days til I was eighteen and could discharge myself :-(

I really wasted my teenage years.... Yeah

God I feel old :haha:

10 years ago I was 25 and spent my weeks working 12-14 hours a day at Vogue thinking I had the best job ever and still going out afterwards with friends...Saturday night at an awesome club we always had reservations at and Sunday was spent drinking coffees and having lunch!

Now I go out 2 times a week with a friend for coffee or lunch and we usually have get togethers on the weekends with other couples either at their houses or ours.

I have no idea how I survived on 4-5 hours sleep back then

I was 15 and had been with my (first ) teenage love for a year  I was doing my standard grades and drinking every weekend, enjoying lots of underage :sex: and trying to get a buzz off smoking peanut skins  I was quite good at 15, my earlier and later teenage years were the awful ones, I was a terror! age 14-16 was the well-behaved filling of the wild child sandwich

10 years ago I was 16, almost 17. I was in my 1st year of 6th form and enjoying life :). I had a great group of friends and we spent most nights just hanging out at one friends house which he had the top floor of so we had privacy (not that we needed it, we were definitely well behaved teenagers :)), at the beach or going for late night drives. We lived in a small, very quiet place and we'd drive an hour to get donuts or to random places which were supposedly haunted to look for ghosts :haha:, hang out and listen to music.

A year before I got with my currant partner. I was single, but recovering from abusive relationship for a while. Probably got drunk a lot and went out. I dont think I was working then as I lost my job when I broke with ex and was left homeless and he had all my stuff. Bad times.

I wonder if our kids would believe all this stuff when they get to their teenage years, it's hard to think of your parents doing anything that isn't totally responsible!!

I wish I had valued my sleep more back then because you don't really get a choice in the matter these days!

:hugs: This is pretty similar to how I spent my latter teenage years, horrible to think how they were wasted!

I would have been 16, and had probably just broken up with my now husband. I was probably smoking lots of weed and being very angry and sad at the world for no other reason than that I was 16.

Now I'm shacked up and married with two kids. Saturday night involved 1/4 glass of wine before falling asleep watching the Eurovision Song Contest.

10 years ago I was 19 with a one year old son and we had just moved house, that was 3 houses and 2 babies ago but basically,I've been a mum for ever lol.

Just about to end year 9 at school. Worst year of my school time and I just wanted the summer so I wouldn't be bullied for a few weeks.

I was 14... I spent most of my Fridays at a local live music venue called the pitz..I used to get my now oh to buy me cigarettes as booze ( how naughty!) and we Weren't dating or anything but I thought he was fit.i think the guy I was obsessed with was a guy called jeff who had long hair (lol) I spent my Saturdays round the city centre meeting random people and hanging with my best friend at the time. I must of been yr 9. I was starting to rebel.....

I was 14 so would have been running home to make my 9pm curfew right about now...
