How long after you stopped bf did you get your period?

I stopped breast feeding a few weeks ago my baby is nearly 8 months old and ive been getting period pains all day for 3 days but nothing? How long after you stopped breast feeding did you get your periods? Was it a normal period? Im on the mini pill too! x

For the record, I'm actually still breast feeding BUT I'm on the minipill as well.

My son will be two in April, I just got my period back this month. It wasn't completely normal because I had some heavy spotting for the first week, some more spotting before actually getting a normal period and spotting for a few more days afterwards. ( Called my gyno, she said it could have been because I messed up the timing on my pill a few times. And even missed my a day or so, so she thought it was that. )

But did you call your doctor and let them know that you stopped breast feeding? Mine had told me to call them when I did to switch pills.

I have the merina coil. When I stopped bf I had no bleeding for 6 months after stopping. Then my periods were all over the place for a year (I had blood tests, smear and swabs because it was impossible to tell if these were actually periods or bleeding from another cause). Then it all settled down again and my periods are barely there at all. It is very common to have no period on the mini-pill, injection or mirena - so your lack of period may be unrelated to breastfeeding.

I am 100 % breast feeding, baby feeds thru day and night regularly ... got my first period when he was 6 weeks 2 days old. Now 11 weeks 1 day and I am on my second day of having period pains but still no bleeding. Gosh knows what is going on.

Mini pill completely stops periods in most women anyway. Never did for me and the doctors were shocked I still got periods with it.

Yes he was still choking and gagging on solids at 12 months. Up until 16 months he ate a few small bites but he only started solids when his other teeth and molars came in at 16 months. Children can be exclusively breastfed into the second year if they don't have much of an interest for food. I don't know if you know baby led weaning pages like stop the mush, but many parents skip cereals and mushed foods.

Yes!! I'm in the same boat kind of. Except for the fact that I'm not on birth control but did stop nursing about three wks all son turned 1 about two wks ago. I got mastitis and went on antibiotics made LO sick so had to stop breastfeeding! When should I expect this period? I feel like I'm pregnant as I've had several symptoms!!! Help?

Did you have any symptoms before your period came back. I ask because I've had strong sense of smell, itchy and sometimes sore breasts, headaches, nausea, tiredness, cramping, darkening of areolas, and tmi??--soft swollen cervix with what feels like a ball and pressure up there??? Did you have any of the symptoms...?

Actually as I nursed less and less I did get symptoms like that. I remember feeling really crampy on and off for a couple months before getting it and having other symptoms like you described because I took pregnancy tests thinking that's what they were from.
