Just curious as to how long everyone's cycles took to return after finishing up the pill? Not counting the withdrawal bleed.

I stopped the pill 14.5 weeks ago and still nothing. Blood test shows hormone levels are too low to start everything back up but Dr is not worried and said to give it another 3 months and then try Clomid.

I swore off this place a couple of weeks ago to get my head out of baby land and try to relax and enjoy things non baby related...obviously curiosity has gotten the better of me.

I have to admit i have been less obsessed since making the choice not to think about babies till September but im in a permanent state of stress and it is showing physically and this could also be holding my cycle back.

Just after some moral support that im not alone.

Thanks

I took my last pill may 29th, had my withdrawal bleed, then my first real period was the 2of June. Xxx

dont mean to scare you but mine was 18 months! acupuncture really helped, pretty much back to normal now, although still no BFP :(

Hey, I'm at 12 weeks off the pill with nothing happening - off to the doctor today - will def ask about blood tests so we at least know if there is anything there.

I hate getting told to wait!! Wanna BFP!

Moving home to Oz at the end of the year, and don't want to be carrying this through different doctors if possible

Good luck emzy - acupuncture was recommended by someone else on another thread as good for regulating cycles (and she didn't have AF for 150 days!!)

Girls, it depends on how long youve been on the pill. they say give it a month for every year u were on it.

I was on it for 5 yrs on and off due to skin problems, so it could be up to 5 months before I could even think about having babies...

So yea depends on how long u were on it...

The waiting game is torture!!!

A month for every year? That would mean I've still got a years wait!:cry:

That would mean if it came any quicker, or sorted itself out sooner, I will be lucky (got to see a positive side in everything!)

Hope your five months turns out to be less!

OMG that means i still have 6 months! Im going to the doctor on monday to see if i can work out the stress issues first..then may try acupuncture....last! lol

I went off the Pill mid February, had my withdrawal bleed and then my next period on 27/03 - I think that made it a 35 day cycle?

I was on the pill for thirteen years. Took my last one on September 4 2002 (I remember cos it was my birthday) and found out I was pregnant on November 11 2002. I think I had one bleed in the meantime.

I came off the pill in mid May after taking it for 6 years; I had a 'real' period straight away and my first cycle was 29 days, this cycle has been 31 days. I am struggling to get any positive opk during my cycles which worries me a bit although I do get ewcm.

I'm going to give it another 2 cycles which will be 4 cycles ttc then I will look into things like acupuncture and natural remedies to help.

I got off the pill almost three years ago (was done with hormonal forms of birth control) and started charting straight away. My cycle was 33 days long. I did have withdrawal bleeding for 8 days. I had been on the pill previously for over 7 years.

Hi

I came off the pil (yasmin) in April 2011. My first cycle was 28days long and the next 32 days long. Now I'm in limbo trying, 19 dpo (if im right about my ovulation dates) 6 days late and bfn.

I think that the pill can affect your body more than we first realsie when swallowing that first pill. I was told by a contraceptive helpline that I may not have a normal period for 3 months. The best thing to do is to stop looking at the calender (hard I know... mine is covered in scribbles) and to stay positive. I have started eating really healthy and stopped on the caffeine and alcohol. I think this is helping my body get back to normal. I have also been taking prenatal vitabiotics includng a special omega capsule for pregnant women as I read on the internet that the pill can stip your body of vital omegas. So eat lots of organic salmon or get an omega capsule for pregnant women (safer dose that way) from the pharmacy.

Stress definately affects your cycles... might be why I'm late now as I don't have many pregnancy symptoms... nothing that's a big 'sign' anyway. The more you try and stay healthy and happy the quicker you will get your body back on track. Concentrate on preparing for pregnancy, that's what I try to do as it's sooo easy to get overwhelmed with pregnancy magazines, and websites... it can drive you round the bend. To make things worse everywhere I go I see pregnant women, sometimes a group of them together lol!

Stay positive and don't stress... we'll all get there eventually.

Baby dust! :hugs:

:hi:

I've just started a journal about this! This is my second month TCC.

I was on the pill for 13 years  I came off the pill mid April (with a few pills left in the pack) had my usual WD bleed then 28 days later had my first real AF. Then since then my cycle (May and June) have been 25 days.

I started to O by the end of April, I don't chart but I had EWCM (was so freaked to see it, it's been such a ling time that I ended up doing a google search about stretchy snot liek CM :haha:) I've started using OPKs and I get my postive CD10-11.

Anyway that's my story, hope it helps or reassures someone. I guess everyone's different. My Dr said unless I had any issue before going on the pill then I should be fine and thank God so far so good. Just waiting for that bfp now! My cousin just had a baby after being on the pill for the same amount of time as me. She was tcc for 4 months.

I came off pill 24th may had withdrawal bleed 29th may and got my first af yesterday! What a relief that was! X

I started TTC March 2011, had my withdrawal bleed end of March/beginning of April, then.....nothing. Not a thing. No changes in CM, no sore boobs, nothing. So I went to the doctor today and got Provera in preparation for Clomid. The doctor just doesn't think I'm ovulating, although I was doing fine with regular periods before I went on the Pill the last time (and I have PCOS).

I was only on the Pill for a year this time. Very frustrating.....I should have TTC while I still had a normal period. :(

I was on the pill for 11 years, came off it Sept 2010. My first cycle was 31 days and they settled down into 30-31 day cycles straight away.

it all depends everyone is diff, I stopped taking bc aug/2010 I was on it for 9 years and my pharmacist told me it could take upto 2 years for body to go back to normal (I nearly cried when he told me that) from being on a 28 day cycle on the pill to 33-35 day cycle off the pill. my sister was diff she had been on the pill for 5 years stopped taking it and got pregnant after only 2 months of being off so it all depends.
