Hi. As the title says - how long did you wait? Did you get advice from your doctor about it? Did your next pregnancy have any complications?

I was told by the surgeon who performed my emergency CS that there was no issues and I could give birth normally next time. Did you manage a vbac or did you need another CS?

I didn't ask at the time about how long to wait as I swore it was never going to happen again. Well 8 months on and I'm getting broody, lol.

Love to hear everyones experience.

Hi there, I had an Emergency section with my first, then had an elective section with my second going on the advice of my OB.

It took almost a year to conceive my first, so we thought I would stop the pill when she was 6 months and let nature take its course... That cycle I fell pregnant! (16mth gap) So my OB advised a section because the body takes typically a year to heal properly on the inside before growing another baby. And the risk of a Uterine Rupture decreases the longer you wait.

We are now try #3, and will probably do another section since a VBA2C is not common here.

Best of luck!

Well after my c section I fell pregnant at 10 months (chemical), 12 months (miscarriage), 15 months (miscarriage), and 17 months (miscarriage). So far no success. I hope having a section hasn't ruined my chances at another baby

Good luck ttc!

I'm sorry to hear that hun. I hope you get a sticky soon :hugs:

Have you had a scan to check in case it is scar tissue giving you problems?

Thank you! Not sure if this is common after sections? I am seeing a fertility specialist weds and so i will see if he can check for scar tissue!

I hope you get preggo as soon as you want to! With no problems! And just to add, my OB says as long as your section was 6 months ago or more you have no higher risk in pregnancy ❤️

Thank you. I guess we are ntnp at the moment. Today was the first time we actually got near each other in months, lol. It took 4 mc to get my baby boy, so we are just relaxing about the whole thing this time.

I hope you get some answers at your appointment. I finally got my sticky baby when my appointment came around. Typical ehh! Thankful though.

Hi Tui!

I've seen you around on here, and thought I'd pop in on this one! I had a c section 9 months ago and am thinking about ttc #2 soon. My doctor didn't say anything about waiting, but I have heard the one year -18 month rule to allow the body to fully heal. I don't necessarily plan to hold to that though lol.

I'm just trying to decide if I'm 100% ready!

Hi sunshine. Nice to *see* you again! It's funny, I have heard everything from 6 months to 18 months, lol. Guess it depends on your doctor.

Good luck with trying for your second.

Hi there :)
I just had my second c-section a month ago which was the result of me getting pregnant about 10months after my first was born via c-section.
My first was an emergency section and I was told to wait 2yrs before getting pregnant again but I ended up needing a laparoscopy 6months after for something unrelated, and was told I'd healed really well . We wanted our kids close together in age so we decided to try for our second and was successful, I could have opted for a VBAC but I was too concerned I'd have the same issues which led me to the original section.
I am glad I chose the second section, as I have healed really well this time too and have barely been limited physically at all.
Best of luck ttc! :)

Hi there! I have had 2 c-sections. The first one was an emergency, and the second one was elective.
I got pregnant with DD2 just 4 days shy of DD1 turning 1. I had shot for a VBAC, and had DD2 not continuously flipped and ending up breech, I would have gotten the VBAC.
The second section was a much better experience. Much more relaxed and calm. heck, much to the surgeon and my doctors dismay, my doula had me full on laughing on the OR table. I am a bit mad I had to have the section, but a t the same time, everything worked out better for me, including the healing.

Edit: I also mention. At 8 months PP, DH and I am looking to start TTC #3.

I was hoping for a few more replies lol.

My first was an emergency c-section in Nov 2007. Had a successful drug free VBAC in June 2010, another drug free vaginal in April 2013. Then was pregnant again as a surrogate and had an emergency c-section in April 2016, which was actually super rough and traumatic, I didn't freeze properly and could feel most of the surgery towards the end, as well as the staples going in. Awful!

And here I am, 4 months later, 4 weeks pregnant!! Ahhhh! I don't have the answer lol.

I had an unscheduled section in July 2010. The baby and I both had complications (including with the epidural/pain management). I healed well, and surprisingly quickly. While I was never given an order by my dr on how long to wait, we planned on a couple of years. Since then, I've had 4 mc and an ectopic, but have also had laproscopy, hysteroscopy, D&C, salpingectomy and they have found no issues with lesions or scar tissue. So, the initial section didn't have any effect on future pregnancy, BUT I will have a second if all works out with this bean because of the continued "trauma" to my uterus.

Hi,

I had an emergency with my first, 3.5 years ago, fell pregnant 7 months later, and had an elective 17 months later. I'm now TTC for number three, and it'll be 2 years later. x
