My breasts filled up yesterday.
They feel like bowling balls!
They are very sore, itchy and are leaking a fair bit.
I am formula feeding.

How long does it take for the milk to go? Or at least for them to stop hurting?

can't give an answer as to how long, but if you put on your tightest sports bra, it will help with the discomfort. That and a bag of frozen peas. :hugs:

It took me a good 4-5 days to start feeling comfortable again. I agree with PP, a good supportive bra will help in the meantime.

I've heard that some birth control pills will help with reducing/eliminating your supply. I suggest calling your doctor to see if they can prescribe you some if you'd like :) Good luck!

Was a couple of days for mine to feel comfier however they stayed bigger for a week or so and leaked on and off but the feeling uncomfy was only really on day 3,4&5 for me. Its a horrible feeling and its true what they say about your baby crying can make your boobs tingle! Mother nature is strange lol. :haha:
Wear a bra at all times (to bed too) and use breastpads. Hope you feel comfier soon chick xx

Thanks :)
I've been using a warm flannel to ease the swelling and my doc has perscribed me some wicked strong painkillers ;)

I mix fed until my milk tailed off (1 or 2 feeds a day) and it only took about a week for milk to dry up though I leaked for a few weeks. Seemed best way to get rid of sore, hard boobs to me.
