how long does it take the stich to come out

Hi everyone I am new here hope here is the right place to post this topic...

I had laparoscopic surgery on 7th of March and the nurse told me the stitches are dissolveable so there is no need to go back...however, 3 weeks later, I can still see the stitches and they dont seem to be dissolved...

can anyone tell me how long is yours come off? should i contact the nurse?

I would contact the nurse as i didnt and 5 yrs later little bits of the stitch would come thru my tummy and make it bleed xxx

They told me this too and it turned out they werent dissolveable and they got really badly infected. I had to get them taken out a week after surgery and it was agony because of the infection.
