Hi

I can't get this out my mind at the moment. We’re on our 18th month TTC (2nd cycle after lap and dye).

We've got our next FS appointment on 16th April - FS told us before I had lap and dye if everything is ok he would see me again 3 months after the op, to give us a chance TTC for a few months due to increased fertility. So I am assuming that my lap and dye was ok.

Before my lap and dye FS also told us that if everything was ok then our next appointment would be to discuss IVF, by the time the appointment comes round we will have been TTC for 20 months. He explained the paper work can take several months and by the time the paper work had been completed it would be 2 yrs of TTC if not already pregnant.

Now I can't stop thinking if this is actually going to happen – is this a realistic next step for us? I feel that I am getting my hopes up – maybe it is the next step and that TTC for 2 yrs with unexplained fertility is long enough?????

I’m so frustrated and confused at the mo x

I don't know for fact (don't live in the UK anymore) but I was under the impression that after 2 years of trying, fertility treatment(s) would be started or at least start trying to figure out if there are any problems.

Fortunately, in Canada, after 6 months of tying they start testing, starting with the male. But, fertility treatment is not covered by our health care system, like is in the UK (I believe anyway) so we have to pay for everything, except the testing...can get quite expensive.

I hope that things move along for you. 18+ months is a long time to ttc.

Best of luck.
