How long should I boil bottles for?

Argh, my microwave just stopped working and unfortunately I have a mircrowave steriliser and only one sterile bottle left in the fridge!

It's too late to go buy a new one today so I'm going to have to boil some bottles but wasn't sure how long to boil them for to be sure they'll be sterile.

Help!

5 minutes is the standard I believe.

We did ours for 10 minutes.

Thanks ladies. I gave them about 10 mins in the end but what a nightmare boiling is eh! Couldn't get the bottles in without them having air bubbles so just had to keep turning them, and despite having 2 saucepans on at the same time, I could only fit in 3 bottles and all their bits! What a pain! I shall be at the shops as soon as they open today for a new microwave!

ooohh god what a palava - I always had a standby electric steriliser lol used to use both when the boys were on 16 bottles a day xx
