how many of you had your waters break.. and

They say only a small ammount of women have there waters go naturally. My mums had to be broke with both me and my brother, mine did not break with my daughter yet my aunts went in all her three girls in huge gushes. So I am really interested to see whose went or did not.

also a lot of people said they went for more bowel movements up to labour yet it seems to vary again. Like some say they did have them, some didnt, some had serious clearout which shocked them or justn really loose. Sorry if tmi hehe

My waters broke with Riley, was a trickle rather than a gush, and my sister was the same when she had her baby. I don't think my mum's waters broke with any of us (4 children)

Im interested in this as they say its only a small % but the last 4 people i know that have given birth and there waters break before hand.

Although both of mine were meant to be planned c sections, my waters broke with both of them before I went into labour. With my first the waters went and I didnt have any pains for 6 hours, with the second, my waters went while I was asleep and I started getting pains about 5 mins after that. Both were a gush rather than a trickle!

My first they broke my waters at 5cm dilated
Second was born in sac of waters
Third was born in sac of waters
Fourth, waters went as i was pushing but i must have had hardly any as nobody noticed they went!

And yes, had a 'clear out' before all of them! x

My waters went in a 'trickle' with my first son at 36+4, I then had to be induced at 37weeks as waters were still going but no contractions.
My second son, contractions started at 39weeks and waters went 14hours later naturally in a big gush.

Mine broke and labour didn't start for 24 hours after that...and then needed induction to get going properly. Was more of a gush than a trickle.

As for BM, kind of loose for the week before but nothing terrible.

My waters broke on DS1 and it was a proper gush, felt like an egg popping inside and then gush water everywhere , on DS2 they were broke for me in hospital.No clear outs before either births

Seems half and half atm between having them not go, go in a trickle or a gush hehe

Mine broke this morning with a gush but I'm yet to poo lol I'm hoping I do as don't want to be a poo machine once I'm in full swing lol!xx

With Pregnancy one - 2005 with a boy:

My waters broke naturally at around 8CM, he was born 40minutes later. I did have a HUGE clear out (2-3 times loose bowels) whilst in early stages of labour.

With Pregnancy two - 2007 with a girl:

I had my waters broken for me at 5cm, she was born 20minutes later. No clear out before or during labour.


Seems totally different for everyone x

yeah for the past three days been having really lose bowel movements and when i go loo i feel like i want to push but there is nothing left. But doubt anything will happen my end.

Really interesting though to see how each one experienced it.

HI hun, my waters broke on a Wednesday evening at 5pm. Went to hospital and got checked over and it was confirmed that my waters had gone. They went with a gush and for me, it felt like a waterfall was coming out of me, it didn't stop for ages. My contractions didn't start until 7am the following morning after a very uncomfortable night where I couldn't sleep as when my dd moved it felt like she was grazing my insides.

During the day, whilst contracting, I did have a good clear out. We ran out of loo roll. I had meant to go to the shops and get some more as we'd only got a half a roll left, but things happened before I could. Definitely make sure you have plenty of loo roll in for just in case.

My dd was born at 21:12 on the Thursday night.

With my first I was induced and my waters went while I was taking a bath to ease contractions, I was 3-4cm and it gushed.

With DD I had a few niggly pains thought nothing of it then with one really bad contraction my waters went, I was 3cm

Im also having what I think is a clear out.... and how lovely for me, I now have piles!!!!

My first went at 33 weeks and no1 believed me, ended up getting an infection and needed a section to save us both.
2nd, waters were broken for me and I was sitting in puddles for the rest of the labour. Because with each contraction more and more would gush out.
3rd. Same as 2nd
4th, waters broke and soaked everything in the vacinity, It was my first push at 10cm and I got the bed, midwife, floor, and OH! pmsl!!!!
5th, we'll see...I keep having nightmares about being on one of my many expensive cream carpets! Noooooooooo!!!!
