On average, how many oz should a 5 month old have in 24 hours?

Ryland has only has about 24-28 a day at 6 months.
He's never been a big eater.

My son is 6 months, and has 36 oz-40 oz. per day, plus three mushy meals.

I think they recommend between 24 - 32 oz. per day, but I'm not completely sure. I'd call your little one's pediatrician to ask.

My lo is 6 months and has anything from 26oz a day to 32oz. She's not a big eater, never has been. I'd say a month ago she was taking 20-25oz a day.

My LO went through a phase a month or so ago where he would have much less milk some days. Guess he was less hu gry sometimes. If it's the odd day I wouldn't worry as it is overall intake not intake on specific days that matters. Some days Alexander would have less than 20 oz too, but he was fine and made up for it on other days! xx

My lo has only had 19oz so far today so she's not having a great day feed wise. I think it's down to teething though as her first tooth has just come through.

Hi kaede. Is LO teething at all? That's sometimes a reason to go off bottles.

My LO usually has 4 8oz bottles a day, she's only hadv3 today and is in bed, but she's really getting the hang of blw now and has eaten like a little monster the last 2 days!

Yes, I think he is teething, I can feel 2 little teeth under his gums at the bottom. No white caps yet though! but don't reckon it will be long

I've been doing BLW the last week and a half, and although he's pretty good at chewing stuff he usually spits it back out rather than swallow lol. I always offer a bottle of milk about 30-60 mins before each meal too so he's not too hungry. Guess he's just having an off day lol.

Most my LO ever took in a 24 hr period was 24 oz.

I was always told that if LO is not feeling too well/off their food try make sure they still have at least half their usual amount is fine.

So, your LO will probably have had around 29oz by bedtime? Thats a lot to me, but probably not to others!!

Well he's had 26oz so that's only 1 1/2 bottles less than normal he's been quite tired and whingey today so I'm not really sure he's been feeling himself. Hopefully he'll feel better tomorrow
