In the nhs book it says no more than 200 mg a day and says 1 mug instant coffee is 100mg, filter coffee 140mg, tea 75mg, 1 can of coke 40mg, can of energy drink 80mg, plain choc bar 50mg and milk choc bar 25mg.
So you can have a few glasses of coke I guess. I normally have a cup of tea when I get up and then 2 or 3 glasses of coke maximum per day so I suppose I have almost the limit really. I did the same with my last pregnancy and he's fine x
Sometimes i have none and sometimes i have a bit. If i drink coke i dont drink more than one glass a day, and i dont drink tea/coffee because i dont like it lol. Also i do eat chocolate but only small bits at a time
i dirnk a 2litre bottle of coke everyday...the mw said do try to drink as lil as possible but u'll know urself wats too much...gasy etc i used to drink 4 to 6 litres so getin myself down to 2 is realy good for me xx
Have you tried caffeine free coke? It's disgusting! lol
I'm drinking a normal amount of coke each day but I've always drunk decaf tea and coffee so I stick to them and have coke when I want but not loads, normally a 500ml bottle a day in work
My one and only vice is Coke. I would have it every day without fail. I don't get caffeine anywhere else, so I only know the amount of coke you can have. When I first got pregnant, the rule was no more than 5 cans per day, as written in "What to Expect When You're Expecting". I was watching a news report when I was about 16 weeks, and they said the limit had recently been reduced it to 4 cans per day, and that's the new guidance in the UK. That's the safe limit; so if you have that much, you shouldn't feel guilty about it. If you go over, it's still safe, as long as you're not doing it every day.
I had to come off caffeine in the second tri because I had migraines, so the docs thought it was worth a try to detox my system, so I went onto caffeine-free diet coke. I have three words for you: not worth it. As soon as it emerged that the caffeine hadn't been causing my migraines, I started drinking it again. For me it's like nicotine is to a smoker. It's so familiar to me it calms me down and makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I know that sounds weird, but it's true. If I go through a horrible ordeal, I will get a can of Coke and gulp it down. TMI but I had an ingrown toenail removed, and forget the painkillers; a can of ice cold full-fat Coke was all I needed to sort me out! I think the sugar and caffeine give me a little high
i have quite a lot of coke everyday because cant really drink anything else, even water makes me sick in the morning for some reason. im not worrying about it because everyone ive known thats had babies have drank loads of coke and theres been no problems.
I miss my coke too...but I wouldn't dare drink the "diet" or caffeine free ones because I'm pretty sure all of those have aspartame in them which has been linked to quite a few problems. I'm really uneasy about the whole thing.
