Hi ladies,

I have had a + digi (yesterday) and loads of + hpts, but noticed that from yesterday and today the line is not noticably darker on a frer (at least not that I can see). It isn't any lighter thou... Shouldn't it be noticably darker everyday at this point (am 14 dpo, I think...)? the line is clearly noticeable, but not as dark as the control line....

it all depends on how concentrated (dark) your urine is and the time of day you test and the sensitivity of the test. usuallt the HCG levels double every 2-3 days so testing after 3 days should see a darkening taking the above in to account. with DD I remember It took a while for the line to equal the test. this time it took about a week after AF was due..

congratulations

I took another test and the line is lighter. Does this mean anything? Should it get darker? Not necessarily. In general, the positive line will be darker when a greater amount of hCG is present in the urine, but not always. Some tests contain more or less dye (meaning there is just more or less color to "stick" to your hCG.) Some tests are more or less sensitive-- even 2 tests in the same box can be different. Also, your urine may have more or less hCG in it depending on what you ate or drank, or how long it's been since you last peed. Food itself does not cause false results, but can affect how much urine you have and how dilute it is. Eating salty chips and drinking caffeine all day will result in more concentrated pee, whereas gorging on watermelon and ginger ale will result in lots of very dilute pee. But an HPT is not meant to tell you "how" pregnant you are. It only tells you if you are pregnant or not. As long as there is a line in the results window, you are pregnant.

I got my 1st BFP with First Response Early Dection at 10dpo, it was very faint.
Stayed faint on 11dpo, got a little stronger on 12dpo. Same at 13dpo. On 14dpo it's just about the same as the control line.

I took a first response digital at 11dpo too because my lines were light and I was like "are those really lines?" I needed digital to confirm LOL

From what I understand, everybodies lines progress a little differently.

Congrats to you :-)

don't go by line darkness as too many things can affect this and normal hpt's just aren't designed to show you how far gone you are... I took a few for reassurance and they did get darker but not that quickly and i was about 8 weeks when the test line got darker than the control! Jx

Now that I guess the test has dried a bit (hours later) it is actually marginally darker than yesterdays....

Thanks for the advice ladies!

xx

Thank you for this thread. I got a very good positive on a frer at 10dpo but two days later (today) it isn't noticeably darker...my computer broke and have been freaking out wanting to ask someone about it!!

Hi Mummy1980, your lines been getting any darker? I still feel unsure... At least they are not getting any lighter

Congrats on your BFP - I got mine too on 10.10.10!!

I was 10dpo and my 11po test was a completely different type of test but my test today @12dpo was definatly a little darker. I also did them at different times of the day! Dont worry hun :)
