and what is their approx weight? Just being nosey as I think my girl is taking too much.

We make up a 5oz bottle and she usually whinges for more so we make up another 2oz (and sometimes she gets another 2oz). This is every 4 hours or so but she goes approx 6-7 hours on a night time.

They say you can't overfeed but I believe if I kept making up bottles she would drink, drink and drink. Can you overfeed?

Riley is a week today and im both breastfeeding and formula. When im making up bottles he gets 4oz/120ml and thats usually plenty for him :) There has been the odd occasion where he's needed a little bit more x

EDIT... Riley is 6 weeks today  I blame the sleepless night i had last night :dohh:

I bf and formula feed also but she is usually good with 4oz....sometimes can eat up to 7 or 8 though (rarely) but I think you are doing everything right. I start her with the reg amount and if she is hungry, like you, give her another oz and if that's not enough another until she is full as to not overfeed her. I also bf 2 or 3 times a day so it may not be 100%accurate, she is 11lb10oz :) she does eat constantly though! and was sleeping at night until just recently so maybe I should up it now? It's all so confusing!

my LO is a bit older (9weeks) but she was on 4oz at that age. I upped her bottles to 5oz yesterday but most of the time she still only has 4oz but its there if she wants it xx

My daughter doesnt eat much so I keep worrying and bringing her to the doctor :( She is 5 weeks today and eats 2-3.5 ounces every 3 hours.

As of today she weighs 9.7 pounds

my LO is 6 weeks and weighs 10.3lbs
up until today she was having 3-4oz every 2.5-3 hours
but today she's been wanting 5 oz and goes 3-4 hours between feeds.

my Lo is 5 6wks on thurs and takes 3-4oz every 3-4hrs sometimes less often and at night she takes 3oz of hungry baby milk at 11ish, 3ish and 7ish to sleep for 4-5hrs. she was born weighing 10lbs9oz and is now just under 12.

You can overfeed, but I think that's more forcefeeding than anything, and you're not forcefeeding. I think if your baby is crying for it, then it probably needs it, so you shouldn't worry too much, but obviously try not to give extra with every single feed.

At 5/6 weeks LO weighed around 10lbs (I had her weighed at 4 weeks and she was 9.5lbs). She was drinking 5oz feeds, every 3.5 hours or so. Aptamil say she should have it 5 times a day I think, but I remember it amounted to a feed every 4.5 hours. She only ever makes it to 4.5 hours at night; during the day she always feeds every 3-3.5 hours, so she is getting more than the pack recommends, but she obviously needs it.

We also try to limit her feeds by giving her water or camomile tea (because flavoured water is nicer to her than regular water). MWs have also recommended this, so I know it's okay to give, as long as you don't give it really close to the next feed, she won't get full up on water.

harrison is 6 weeks, 7weeks on friday, he has been having 4-5 oz every 3-4 hours for the last 2 weeks and has just started to drain the odd 5 oz bottle, he then sleeps from 11pm-6am.

Ellie's 5.5 weeks and we feed on demand so she often doesn't take much during the day - maybe two 3oz feeds and then cluster feeds of an evening. She can drink constantly all evening and take 6/7/8oz. Then usually one or two wake ups in the night of 1-2oz feeds. Very sporadic and all over the place but I'm happy to follow her lead.

at 4 weeks baby was 8lbs, but 5/6 she started taking 3 in a half to 4oz. she's prolly 9-10lbs now.
