How much milk is your LO on and how often? Also what age are they?? My LO is 3 weeks old and having about 80-90ml every 3 hours

My LO is the exact same age as yours lol. He is taking 150ml every 3 and half to 4 hours and we are going to use hungry baby formula for his last feed as the HV advised us to. Oh and he goes 6 hours from his 8pm feed...

But we have had a set routine of every 4 hours from day one... maybe thats why he takes 150ml?

She's finished a few 90mls this week so we've tried her with 120ml and she has 100-110ml then is sick quite abit so we've gone back to the 90ml, which sometimes she doesn't finish. She's waking up every 3 hours without a doubt, sometimes 2.5 hours... I wish my LO would settle for 6 hours between feeds. Not sure if it makes a difference but she was born at just 36 weeks xx

Oliver was 2 weeks late... so it might make a difference? Oliver desided he only wanted feeding every 4 hours from the minute he was born lol!!

But i was just thinking if she was born at 36 weeks she would be 39 weeks now, which would mean her stomach might not be able to handle much more than 90mls.

Oh and also my HV said if baby drained more than one bottle aday to put another ounce in... we did it with oliver and at first he wouldnt drink it all but now he does about 3 full bottles... but we have been told not to put it up anymore hahahx

LO drinks about 120mls/40z every 2.5 hours, he was going 3-4 hours, but for some reason he been extra hungry the last week!

The last 2 weeks or so has been setting himself a routine of last fed around 9-10pm, then sleep at 11, then sleeping till about 5-5.30am:thumbup:

At 3 wks my Lo was taking 90 ml every 3-4 hrs. & sleeps through for 6 hrs without a feed xx

Hiya! My son is 4 weeks 2 days old, he feeds on 150ml every 3 hours during the day and at nighttime sleeps between 6-8 hours before his next feed. I was wondering whether to try Hungerier baby formula as he still seems hungry afterwards!

Im getting on really well being a mummy? how about you xxx

It makes a huge difference that she was born at 36 weeks. My baby was born at 37 weeks and I was told that she wouldnt drink even 2 oz at a time til her due date. So your baby is drinking almost 3 oz at a sitting before her due date. She is behind other babies her age as far as how big her tummy is. She didnt start sleeping a 6 hr stretch til 10 weeks.

Yeah good thanks! Its lovely-Its the best feeling in the world being a mommy. Can't believe how quickly the last few weeks have gone though but it does seem ages ago since we were on here moaning about being overdue!! Enjoy your little son. xx

DaisyBee, that's really interesting. My LO was also born at 37wks (it's her due day today! :) ) and she did find it so hard to take any more than 30/40mls every 2.5/3hrs until this week really. Now she ocassionally takes 70/80mls which we are really pleased about. A couple of nights she went 4 hrs which felt like a major landmark!

I could have done with knowing that being early would affect her feed volumes though! No one mentioned it at the hospital so I always felt pressured to make her eat more. :(

At 5 weeks my son drinks 4oz every 3 hours during the day, but goes 4 hours without a feed at night sometimes.

I was only told the size of her stomach by the lactation people when we were deciding that we needed to supplement formula as I wasnt producing enough for her (we were pumping and feeding it with a bottle). Her dr didnt tell me this and actually was trying to tell me to feed her at least 11 2/ oz the first week - which the lactation people laughed at saying no way would her tummy hold that much. They said if she gets to 2oz by her due date she would be doing good.
Also - at 2month check (9weeks) Megan was drinking 3-4oz every 3-4 hours. Her dr said this was less per feed than most 9 week olds. Sure enough shortly after this appt she upped her feeds.

Megan ate every 2 hrs til 6 weeks when she had a 3-4hr stretch once in the night. By 10 weeks she was 3-4hours between feeds in the day and a 6hr stretch at night. At 4 months she is still 3-4 hrs in the day but upped the amount and goes anywhere from 7-10hr stretch at night depending on how much she ate during the day.
