how much milk did ur lo's go down when they were weaned on one meal / two meals and three meals???

like,

50oz a day - no meals
40oz a day - 1 meal
30oz a day - 2 meals
20oz a day - 3 meals

if u get what i mean?!?! :) x

well i dont think they need to drop feeds and such till quite later on with weaning, or thats my understanding of it.

my lo drinks 32-40oz a day and has 3 BLW meals a day. its still early days of BLW so hes not actually eating a whole lot, but i have noticed an increase recently. but he seems happy with his milk and its important he gets more milk then solids at your LO's age.

baby led weaning, like giving them food to play with i think to see what they do with it??? i think! x

Lol i knew it was led weaning didnt know what the B was for? Derrr cant use the baby brain excuse anymore!!!! :)

They'r not suppose to drop milk feeds before they'r 6+ months & on 3 meals. If you start weaning before 6 months, solids should be offered in addition to their regular milk feeds (unless you started weaning because your LO is taking much more than the recommended, in that case, dropping some ozs would be fine). before 6 months milk should be the main nutrient as it has more calories than early weaning food. If your LO starts dropping milk feed before he's 6 months, you should try to maintain the min of 24-28 oz. At 6+ the min is 18-21 oz & at 9+ the max is 20 oz. HTH

at the moment my lo is having one meal a day, as recommended by his dietition (he has a dietition as he has a severe milk allergy) and also he was taking about 70oz milk which was making his tummy upset. what i cant understand is that he loves his solids, eats quite a big meal at 4pm, but hasnt dropped milk at all?!?! i thought it would drop???? his stomach seems less upset with the solids aswell tho?? im confused!! just wondering what other babies did when started weaning. dietition recommended starting a breakfast (10am ish) aswell as his 4pm meal to see if milk drops, just wondering if it would work?

70 oz is too much. I dont have advise regarding hungry babies. Mine was never keen on his formula. Check with his dietician hun if you can drop some ozs or bottles. You can also offer him some water with his solids, as he might be thirsty, & this is why he's still taking full feeds.

he has 7oz of water a day too! i cant win with him!! unfortunately because of the milk he is on for his allergy they dont have a "hungry baby" version, will have to talk to dietition about adding a breakfast. thanks for the advice :) x

My DD was never a big drinker, but before we started weaning she was taking around 25-30oz a day. She didn't start dropping milk until we were on 3 proper meals, and now she's taking around 20oz most days.
