How much spends do you have left?

Currently DH & I put £500 a month into savings and have about £80 each (from which he pays petrol & I pay food) left per week after covering our household bills & mortgage. Once I'm on ML we won't be putting anymore into the savings until I am back at work, and will have more like £50 each per week spare.

Hey all, this still terrifies me, but with the economy the way it is, it's highly unlikely we'll get a pay rise/new job. All I read is that people say there's never a perfect time, people cope etc, but I still can't stop worrying. I totally agree that waiting might take forever, and I don't want to be much older!

At the moment on maternity we will have approx £200 a month left for nappies, milk and general things. When I go back to work in June this will go down to approx £80-£100 per month as we have to pay towards childcare. I am really worried it is not going to be enough to get what LO needs!!!

xx

Is that £300 left after everything has been paid...

-mortgage
-gas/elec/water
-insurance - home/car
-petrol
-mobile phones
-sky/tv licence
-council tax
-supermarket shopping

Have you thought about childcare once you go back to work.....a couple days a week is £300 per month childcare so that £300 can go so quickly...:flower:

Yes, all bills/essentials.

Childcare concerns me, however, we have family who can help and my job is somewhat flexible-I could work weekends, meaning I wouldn't need childcare for those two days (OH). OH's mum has Thursdays off, and his dad retires next April :)

Try to have a baby now because tax credits going to stop next year! Sayf you have a baby before the tax credits stop then you will carry on receiving them until baby is 18
