At 14 weeks old how much should my LO be drinking at a time. He usually takes about 4 1/2 to 5 oz every 3-4 hours. I don't think he is eating enough. Should I be worried or is this amount ok? I guess I should mention he was 6lbs 14oz at birth. I haven't had him weighed since 8 weeks old and he weighed 11lbs 7oz then, so I'm pretty sure he is around 14lbs or so by now. I will know in a couple weeks when he goes to his 4 month check-up.

I'm pretty sure Joe was taking between 5 and 6oz every 3 hours during the day at that age. He now takes 7oz bottles a couple of times a day and 2 8oz bottles, a total of 5 bottles during the day and sleeps through the night.
Hope that helps x

I'm pretty sure they say it should be 2.5 times their weight in ounces - so at 14lb a baby should be drinking 35oz of milk in 24hrs. HOWEVER, my thoughts on this are that if you are BF'ing you have no idea of how much they are getting so why have guidelines for FF

My LO is almost 17 weeks and has 5 x 6oz bottles per day - but doesn't always finish them, I'd say she has about 27 or 28oz in a day.
