How often and how long does/did your 12 week old baby feed?

Hi,

I know that all babies and mummies' boobies are different, but I would like to get an idea of how often and how many minutes your 12 week old baby feeds or fed when he/she was 12 weeks old.

Also, one breast or both?

It's been a while for me, but I seem to recall she was still nursing about every 2 hours at that age, for probably 30 minutes. She has always had both breasts at every feed. Don't worry if yours is different though - there's a huge range of "normal"

Florrie has always been a quick feeder. She never takes more than about 20 mins and that's if she has both sides. She has also generally always gone 3-4 hrs between feeds and has put on weight with no problems.

So I agree, all babies are different!

Well my LO fed about every 2 hours and he only takes 5 or 10 mins, one side only. He's always been very quick and fed very often and if I try to give him more to make him last he brings it up. However about 14 weeks or so he started to naturally stretch a little longer sometimes - maybe 3 hours - but he also had a cold so I don't know if it was that.

Dylan was/is still really every 2 hours but doesn't take long - probably 5 or 10 mins, never more than 20mins if he's having a marathon session. Generally one side only.

Same as PP ^^^ - always been quick and frequent, and sicks up if I try to give him more.
