My lo is feeding every 1.5 hours through the day but only waking once through the night for a feed. I'm finding it very time consuming in the day feeding so often. Is this normal ? He's 3 and half months old. I'm thinking of starting to combine feeds with formula soon ?

It is different for every baby and every pair of breasts. How many feeds is it per 24hrs? It may be that he just needs it because he isn't waking at night. Also is it 1.5 hrs between the start of each feed or between the end of one and the start of another?

Different for everyone kiddo! I fed my son on demand but I remember being ao exhausted. He woke up every few hours at night just to feed. He could be cluster feeding, or going through a growth spur.

We had about 8-9 feeds per 24hrs at that age but it was round the clock, so more spread out but no big stretch at night. So I'm quite jealous of the sleep part! It took my LO about an hour to feed at that time so 3hrly feeds had only 2hr gaps between them.

If he has always had this pattern it sounds like it is what works for him. If it is a new thing maybe look at if he is getting distracted during feeds and not finishing them (does he feed 5minutes, look up, go back on for 2, look round again etc.).

If he's not feeding much at night then he has to feed more in the daytime to make up for it. I would gladly trade places with you. My 4.5 month old feeds every 2-3 hours daytime and wakes up at night 2-3 times to feed.

Thomas was 4 hourly and Sophie was about 3 hourly and both fed about 2-3 times per night also.

She started to stretch out her feeds around then; so she went 3ish hours during the day, sometimes 4, and then was up once or twice during the night.

I wont complain then haha, i know im so lucky he sleeps through, allthough i feel your pain as my first baby (now 7) was up every 20 mins even a year old he would be up 10 times a night it was so tiring so im very happy this ones a sleeper lol x

MY baby fed every 2 hours for 40 min for 5 months. AT 6 weeks he slept through. AT 5 months he fed every 3 hours for 20min both breasts.
please dont give him formula, your milk supply will decrease.
YOU ARE EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT U HAVE MILK AND ABLE TO BREASFEED.
