How often does everyone get Braxton Hicks? Are mine normal!?

Just curious...how many times in a day or hour does everyone get braxton hicks contractions? I know this has been asked before, but i'm curious because I was getting 5-10 in an hour the other day (probably standing too much)...i'm 25 weeks.

i get them only at night and only for about an hour or two, although I am 28 weeks adn now i have been admitted to the hospital because my plug is gone and they are sying that im in preterm labour, I have not had a contractions since friday night, the best thing to do is to stay off your feet, and get checked out by your doctor.

I would have them for a few hours each day 3/4 times an hour from 20 to 30wks. They were rarely painful but did occasionally leave me with a lingering back ache. Nothing in particular triggered mine, and I was on bed rest so not active at all.

I went to 38+ wks so for me they amounted to nothing, but as twins33 says its always worth getting checked. Many women have them when carrying twins due to increased uterine stretching, and most of the time they're harmless, but you lose nothing by getting a check up hun. Contractions are usually ok unless they become frequent, reasonably regular and/or are painful.

Twins33, sorry to hear you're struggling honey. Have the hospital confirmed wi a monitor you are actually in ptl? Are they trying to recent it? Xxx

I seem to get mine if: i have a full bladder
if i am on my feet a lot
walking too much
not drinking enough

Yesterday i had several in an hour (6 or more) but i had just walked a fair way and had a full bladder.

Today i have not had any yet, it just seems to vary.

They are only a worry if they increase in frequency like labour contractions would and/or are very painful.

As of right now nothing has changed, i am waiting t see my doctor, she will be here sometime around 10 this morning, all i know is that my cervical length is non existent and I am 2 cm dialated, I am going crazy here, im worried about several things, and cant get any one to give a straight answer they gave me magnesium sulfate friday, but that is about it, it helped but contractions did not stop till 6 am saturday morning, now they are just monitoring me on a different floor.

I dont think Ive had any yet ...whether its im having them and i dont know, or whether i just havent had any. I wouldnt know what im feeling for, i seem to be plodding along pretty pain and ache free so far. Although i now have 2 peoples feet playing with my ribcage but thats about it. Im guessing i might of had some but i can honestly say ive never noticed.

Thanks everyone! I do seem to be able to control it by sitting more and resting, and by drinking more...which I need to do anyways because when I went pee this morning there was blood...I will freak if I have a kidney stone (had one last year that amounted to 2 surgeries)...so lots of water it is for me!! )
