Char has been grabbing at and holding onto toys since about 10 weeks. Just a week or so ago she started actually playing with them...she chews them, tosses them around, holds them in front of her face and coos or blows raspberries at them....it's hysterical!
at about 3.5 months he started actually holding things and reaching out to them. before then he would swat things occasionally but now he really knows about to play with the things that hang.
I don't even remember, it has been quite a long time. She seems to put playing before learning to speak..
About 3 months and 3.5 months playing.
Hannah just started holding toys (she's almost 3 months) and batting at her play gym she prefers chewing on her hand to most activities though and loves to be sat up just to look around
