how old was your LO when they started cooing at you when you spoke to them.?

joshua is 10 days old and when he has his nappy free time i lay beside him and talk to him and he coos at me.

just wondering how old your LOs were when they started this.

umm Kira was 3-4 weeks old,

Kacy can't remember but she didn't really coo till she could sit up i don't think. she was quiet content on laughing and smiling

id say ella she did a few coos at 5 weeks and now just does it propely at 3 months

i'm not sure how we define a coo?

I get big smiles now - he's 7 weeks - so I'm happy.
but a coo sounds delightful!

Chloe did her first proper one yesterday, now she wont shut up- she gonna be just like me!!

so he may not be doing it on purpose then.

when i talk to him i get a little smile aswell but hubby says its just wind but its not how he smiles when he has wind.

how old roughly are they when they start smiling?

Didn't they used to say 6 weeks but now 4 weeks for a smile? Rebecca makes quite a range of noises. My mum keeps saying is very advanced for a newborn. But then I'm thinking now she is almost 2 weeks old! She's almost a grown up!

yeh i thoughtit was 6 weeks.

joshua is so strong for a newborn, well a 2 week old.

he holds his head up and when you have him over your shoulder he lifts his head and looks around.

when i lay him down to change his nappy he lays there grinning and smiling and cooing.

2-3 weeks I think. I know she first smiled when she was 3 weeks 5 days.
