How popular is Logan??

Hi!
Me and OH have narrowed it down to 2 names that we both like and agree on..

Logan
or
Travis

We both prefer Logan (at the moment!!), however ive got big issues about not giving my baby a common/popular name. I used to be a teacher, n i found it sad when children had to be full named all the time (to be honest, i dont think it bothered the kids! lol!) ie i had 3 chloes and 3 jacks in my last class. They other children would say things like "me n chloe smith played this, me n chloe brook were playing this"... they were never just "chloe". id like my baby to just be called by his first name.

So, (with the x-men films being popular at the mo) im just wondering how popular the name Logan has become- do you know many baby logans?

Hi - I really like Logan. I dont know any Logan's, I've never heard the name at my childrens school and I have only heard it twice on here x x

This is my dillema too, I have seen quite a few on here being called logan so am worried that it is going to become a v popular name this year.

Logan is a lovely name! i have a logan on my street but he is the only logan i've ever known so i don't think it's that common.

In the US it is becoming quite popular. I have known 3 little Logans... but then again, i work with kids. I love the name, by the way. It's on my list too!

I always look at the US social security website (SSI) to determine popularity. They rank every name used to issue social security cards.

Logan ranked #19 in 2008, #17 in 2007, & #20 in 2006

Travis ranked #177 in 2008, #170 in 2007, & #163 in 2006

Logan has always been one of my favorite boys names but my DH hates it, so I wont be able to use it... I think its cute for a baby and also sounds nice for an older child, young adult, adult, etc.

I think it's been the #1 name in Australia for a while. It is definitely more popular than Travis.
