To cut a long story short, i've been waiting to TTC for a while, and finally after alot of messing around the doctors finally got me an appointment to have my implant removed.
I had this out 2 weeks ago, and last friday me and my OH didn't use protection.
Like a little kid with christmas presents I want to know when I can find out, and sites on the net vary with what times they say..

My periods since I had the implant were horrible, i had random spotting every other week but never anything proper..

So I have no idea when the 'best time' is to try until i have a proper one again, but im too impatient.

So, based on not using anything last friday, whens the soonest you'd say I can do a test?

I've never been pg myself (also TTC) but I am surrounded by the planets most fertile sisters! Both of my sisters got negative results after 4 weeks (the day or soon there after AF was due) one of my sisters even went to the doctor when she was 4 weeks pg and tested a BFN at the Dr's office and they gave her a depo shot! Two weeks later (at 6 wks) she was feeling odd, took a HPT, and BAM! Pg. My other sis, pretty much the same thing. She tested BFN up until 6 weeks pg even though she was already pg. You know if your implant was hormonal based and not an iud you are technically supposed to wait a few months before TTC. You run a higher risk of miscarriage. Oh well though now huh? lol, I'd say wait for AF and (as hard as it is TRUST ME) don't test until you are at least a week or more past AF is due. You CAN test as early as 6 days before AF, but from everything I've seen, its more likely to give you an inaccurate result. I, myself, just tested this morning (even though I am not tech late yet) and I got a BFN. If I don't start by next week I'll try again, but just keep in mind the levels of Hcg vary woman to woman and may not be detectable until you are 6wks pg or so. It sucks waiting!!! Lol, trust me, I'm with you. Just try not to expect it so soon. The first month we were trying I nearly went crazy wondering if I was or wasn't. Several months later and it still gets to me, but trying not to stress too much over it. Good luck to you!

I got the :bfp: with my son 2 days after my period was due. I had the implant myself (6yrs). My 1st period was horrible and painfu, but every since then was fine. How long was ur last cycle?

If you just got your implant out, I don't know if you would have ovulated yet. It would be hard to know without charting your temps. You should wait to test until AF is due, so 14 days ish depending on your cycle, but that is from ovulation.
Do you know if you ovulated?

Ill be honest all these abbreviations of words are confusing the hell outta me! Is there anywhere I can learn what all those mean? Lol!
I'm pretty much taking a stab in the dark as it's been over 3 years since I had a period so I'm clueless.

If I have to wait about 6 weeks its gonna bloody kill me!

Ok, here's a few let me know if there are others

BFP- Big fat positive (pregnancy test results)
BFN- big fat negative

AF - Aunt flo, period

dop - days past ovulation, the luteal phase, the days between ovulation and period, sometimes known as the 2ww (2 week wait) between ovulation and when you will know if you are pregnant.

Hope this is helpful...

That was so helpful, thankyou so much!

Well ive been spotting every few days for the last 3 years, it continued till last Friday and since me n the OH tried, I've had no blood for the past week, but I guess that's just my body sorting itself out.

Should I just wait n if no AF in 4 weeks take a test?

Thanks so much you've all been so helpful :hugs:

I would wait for a bit..get some cheap tests from ebay (or poundland does 2 for £1) and just test randomly until you either get a :bfp: or your af.
