Hi

So I had my first IVF appt last month and have been told it takes about 3-4months for the funding to come through.

Once the hospital has the funding I will start my IVF. Is anyone waiting to start their IVF journey.

Have you made any changes to your daily rountine like diet, meditating or working patterns to maximise your chances. I really want to be as prepared as possible. I want to start making small changes to help me as I can get really stressed and overwhelmed sometimes.

Its abit surreal, I cant believe I may be starting IVF soon.

I would appreciate any tips/advice.

Thank You in advance:thumbup:

Get onto a healthier diet - loads of fruit and veg.

Stop smoking if you smoke - NHS will bite your head off about it if you do and will tell you to be smoke free for 3 months anyway!

Exercise! Take a swimming class or something, it strengthens your muscles down there and everywhere, relaxes you and keeps you fit!

Folic acid and prenatals - if you haven't already been taking them!

Good luck!!

I believe my husband and I are that road, but I'm in the states so our problem is coming up with the money on our own.

I agree with PP to eat healthier and don't smoke. Good luck with everything. :)

we have not scheduled our first IVF appt yet but we plan to go that road in 2-3 months, I started doing acupuncture to prepare my body although we have a male issue. Hubby is trying to quit beer and takes his vitamins

Hi there! My DH and I are starting IVF in January. We go for our seminar appt. next week where they teach you how to administer the injections, etc. I'm also doing the mock embryo transfer and getting a hysterosalphingogram (well, atleast I'm pretty sure that is what I'm getting, don't have the sheet out in front of me- need to check the uterus) that day as well. We would be starting in December but the lab is closed for three weeks for an annual "cleaning" around the holidays (just my luck).

I've read that avocado, nuts, and olive oil is supposed to increase the success of IVF by three times. I did a simple google search to see if there were any special diets that were recommended and there were a lot of articles on this. Also read about high protein diets being useful as well, with pineapple core being something to consume after the ET (along with nuts).
