Iv already had mastitis when Kaitlin was about 1week old :-( and now I think Im getting it again, my left breast is sooo sore and tender in one area, there is no redness though and Iv not had fever and chills like last time, so it might not be?

Is there anything I can d to prevent it from turning into fully fledged mastitis again ? I still have some anti-biotics from last time becuase silly me forgot to take some of them, would it be naughty of me to take them ?

I think that the best advice to prevent it from turning into mastitis is to feed from that breast constantly.

Yes just keep feeding. It won't really be worth taking the antibiotics unless you've got a full course, that's how bugs start to build up resistance to them. Having said that I've had mastitis and if I was in your boat I may do the same!

Thanks hun, I avoided it the last feed becuase it was so sore but I'll keep feeding from it and expressing, it seems to be filling up more than ususal today aswell, Iv expressed two lots of 4 ozs really easily which I cant usually xx

Try to get baby to feed rather than expressing if you can as baby will empty the breast completely which expressing doesn't always do.

Feed as much as you can.

I have had it 3 times, and this is what I do.

As soon as I notice the sorness and/or redness. I take a warm shower and just massage the knot towards the nipple to help break up the knot.

I double up on my vit C. I also take mix a shot of fruit juice, grapeseed extract (20 driops) and one dropper full triple source echinacia. It taste horrible, but I have kept it from going into full on mastitis all 3 times.

I also mix a pultice of comfrey leaves and castor oil and keep that on the spot when not feeding. Along with heat from a heating pad. I also stay in bed or on the sofa as much as I can.

All this I got from my MW.

If I start getting feverish and feeling flu-y I take oil of Oregano, but only for a day as it can interfere with milk production, but it is a very good natural anti-biotic.
