How would you pronounce Aerie?

We really like the name Arie (Arh-EE)and want to use it whether we have a boy or a girl.

I just want to find a more feminine spelling for a girl and was thinking Aerie, but I'm not sure if it would always be pronounced wrong? I don't want that either!

I would pronounce Arie like you have it but I would pronounce Aerie as air-y. I think the e after the a makes it an "ai" sound rather than an "aw" sound.

That's just me though, I think it's a lovely name

I agree with the pp, also, Aerie is the name of a lingerie chain in the US... For me I would spell it Ari for a boy and Arie for a girl.

I agree with the 2 posters above. Air-ee is how I see it. And I like the spelling Ari for boy, Arie for girl

I also instinctively thought it was pronounced air-ee from that spelling.
