The conventional way of spelling is Amelie but everyone who reads it says it as AH-MEE-LEE which is a completely different name . I can think of other ways to spell it and they just don't look right . We are definitely going to call our little girl this just need help with the spelling . Thank you :) x

I guess you could go with:

    Amali

    Amalie

    Amma-lee

    Ammaleigh

I would just go with Amelie anyway! The name is getting more popular so I doubt that many more people will get the pronunciation wrong ..

In my baby name book it's spelt Amalie, that's probably the next best spelling! It looks more like how it's pronounced too :flower:

I've never heard of or seen this name used in the US -- But i've seen it on here for babies in the UK.

I think i've been reading it wrong all this time! :dohh:

I thought it was pronounced "am-al-lee" (Similar to Emily)

But -- For the (correct?) pronounciation (ie. the one you prefer) -- I think Amalie is better than Amelie
