Hi,

I was just wondering, whats the latest anyone's been pregnant before, but their tests were negative?

I'm nearly 35DPO - I had pinky/brown spotting 4 days (1st-3rd) before AF (5th March), and last week I started with tender nipples, which has now progressed to both the breasts, and have grown in size as i've had to let out my bra strap and its marking me thru tightness, trousers are tight round waist but still fit my thigh's, and yet I did a Boots Digital this morning and it says not pregnant.

My Doctor wants to wait for 2 missed periods before she will investigate, has anyone been pregnant but still had negative HPT at what would be 7 weeks pregnant (if I am)??

The Boots Digital test is the one you insert the pee stick into the holder, so you can actually legitimately pull it out and see the lines, I had a dark blue control line, and a faint blue line to the left .... I know Digi tests have funny lines, but I thought an Evap would be greyish?

You're certain that you're 35 dpo? Why is your doctor wanting to wait so long to investigate? I'm surprised they haven't at least done a beta at this point.

Also, most digital tests always have two lines. Peeonastick.com actually advises taking apart the tests because they can just add to the confusion of TTC.

Fx'd for you! Hope you get your BFP soon! :hugs:

Hi miss BB,

When i fell pregnant with my son, it took till i was was 8 weeks pregnant before a hpt came up positive. My son was a surpirse pregnancy, but i knew something wasnt' right and i had taken several pregnancy test over the weeks (now i know i WAS pregnant during those weeks) and they had all came back negaitve. My DH and i swore we weren't going to do another test, but we were at a family party and a family member recommended the CB digi as i was feeling queezy and just not good, so we decided we'd do a digi and then that'd be the end of it..... i got my positive that night.

I don't want to give anyone false hope, but equally i'm living proof its not over till AF get you:hugs:!

Wish you all the best..... Fingers crossed for that BFP.

L xx

I'm certain my last AF was 5th Feb 10, and I was due 5th Mar 10, and its now 24th - so given I had 2 normal AF post coming off the pill in Dec 09(AF: Jan and Feb were OK), my cycle was 28/9 days for both, and i'll be 35 DPO on Friday 26th Mar.

The doctor I have is newly qualifed, infact I think she leaves the practice in July according to the notice boards. I'm also on an Anti Depressant (Sertraline), and she wants to make sure its not those affecting it.

I might get a second opinion, but if I am, I am, if i'm not, then i'll keep TTC.

Thanks for the message.
xx

Hiya,

It's not false hope, i've been looking on the internet, and I saw a few forums where people said they have BFN right up to 3-4 months - and only an ultrasound confirmed it.

Given there is a high miscarriage rate in my mother side of the family, i'm wondering if my HCG is just too low, and I could be.

Thanks for your message, it does help give a wider perspective on it all.

Missed this bit, sorry!
The Boots Digital isn't a break apart test, you actually have to push in the bit you pee on, and you can see the result window - (I've attached picture of it)

Hi can someone advise me as i am totally confused.
I have looked at the picture BB has posted.
My digital bit said not pregnant but when took apart i had 2 lines??
Does this mean i have to disregard the lines underneath or is it a possitive?

I had exactly the same thing this morning: 'not pregnant' in the window in digital but when i broke it apart there was a faint blue second line...

NikkiP37 have you found out since you are pregnant?

Miss_BB does the description above match what you were saying?

Thanks ladies!! 11dpo and gagging to know!!

hi i am 10dpo and i did the boots digital test it said not pregnant but when i took the test stick out there was a faint line now im just confused does this mean i am or not ?

please help me!!!!!

sorry guys just found this on peeonastick.com

In simple terms, the digital test stick sucks up urine like a "regular" HPT. The test has a control line like every other HPT, to indicate the test worked properly. Then there is a "results zone" where a second line may or may not appear. Here's the difference: the second line may appear even if you are not pregnant, because the antibodies in the "results zone" are NOT testing ONLY for pregnancy hormone. Drumroll please. The "results zone" detects not only hCG (pregnancy hormone) . . . but also LH (luteinizing hormone.) LH is found in women's bodies almost all the time in some quantitity. (See the Fertility Info section for the nitty-gritty.) So, depending upon where you are in your cycle, how much LH your body produces normally (which can be thrown off by conditions like PCOS), you may see a second line even when there is no hCG ("Not Pregnant.")

To wrap up this thread in terms of the pregnancy I endured back in March...

I eventually lost this baby - I got a BFP on the 26th March and miscarried on the 2nd April. Having now got pregnant again, I would advise that you take no notice whatsoever of the lines inside the digital tests - the whole reason we can't seem them, is because we are not meant to see them.

Admittedly, I did crack open my CB digi's back in early October - but ONLY because my conception dates kept going up (1-2 weeks/2-3 weeks/3+ weeks) and I was intrigued to see what a TRUE pregnancy looked like on these hidden sticks. If you are truly wanting to look at lines - DO NOT look at or analyse the digital sticks unless you can categorically be certain you are 100% pregnant. Go and get the FRER or any pee stick that allows you to ascertain the lines yourself!!!

I promise you 100% it will save you a LOT of heart ache.
xx
