Huggies pure baby wipes

I've just bought a box of these, i don't think they smell? I love the fact they are really thick but there not the cheapest, so will only buy them when there on offer. But I find them better than others as they are quite thick, but I did just rip one when I tried to pull it out of the packet! oops!

btw does anyone really pay £2.24 for a pack of wipes?
I pay 97p for lidls ones and would onyl pay £1 from the pound shops for other ones.

I agree £2.24 is silly money for a pack of wipes. Waitrose own are good at £1.20 or so, and often they're on 2 for £2. On that note, does anyone else wonder why they don't just halve the price of wipes instead of constantly having them on BOGOF?!

I watched a programme...(cant remember which one now, think it was a tonight special or something like that) on chemicals in products we use and they were testing the amount of different chemicals in different peoples bodies what we absorb from using things like shampoo and moisturisers and things...and it did mention something about huggies wipes (and probably others) saying that they had a chemical in them that was not very good for you in huge doses and that they were not just like 'cotton wool and water' like they state, and they actually use chemicals in things that claim to be 'fragrance free' to make them fragrance free!
its discusting that they get away with things like this and make us mums think that its just like using cotton wool and water.....i am not sure what chemicals are used and so on and i have used huggies and pampers wipes so not knocking anyone just so you know lol ,I would like to know though x

True. There are loads of chemical nasties in the vast majority of cosmetics we use Eg, the cheap foaming agent sodium laureth sulphate (which is also used in car engines!) seriously irritates my skin, but it's in 90% of shower gels and shampoos. Even ones that are marketed as 'natural'.

Ones that don't contain nasties are usually very expensive but some supermarkets like Waitrose do some decent own brand stuff that's chemical free :)

I've got used to checking labels now.

Tbh i think its a lot of money too the amount that you go through them, they should set up some form of loyalty club giving you points per spend then XXX back in vouchers!! Would be much better than them sending you out the odd £1 or 50p off voucher for stuff you dont really use

I stock up when they are on offer, Johnsons are my preferred brand but i'll use Huggies too if there is a good offer on those

I admit that they can rip sometimes but Huggies wipes are still my favourite, especially the Shea Butter ones. I don't think they smell nasty at all, and tried all "flavours":haha:

As someone else said, I've tested them all on my face 1st and my outcome is....

Johnsons sting

Pampers sting and are slimy

Tesco's are ok

Asda's are not too bad but I don't like the smell of the fragranced ones

£4.98 for a box of 4, each pack has 64 wipes i use 1 per nappy change so about 8 a day approx

who's good at maths

yeah thats the one. its shocking how they can contain things like this and then claim to be like 'cotton wool and water' its soo misleading!! like the original source products that i used to love claim to be all ''natural'' but contain loads of harsh chemicals :growlmad: yeah they have esential oils and things in them but they dont tell you about the nasty chemicals! but like you say 90% of products have them in :growlmad: I am ALWAYS paranoid about the bath products I use for the kids but I still buy them  and I am also paranoid about sented candles and air freshners plugs ins around the kids etc but thats a different story lol!
I would like to know more about this stuff, will have to do some reserch  x

I haven't heard of that! My favourite brand is Green People, it suits my skin but not my budget :(

1 pack or 1 wipe?

I use between 5-10 wipes per nappy change. Depends if I am changing and he pees everywhere! lol:haha::dohh:

I don't think they smell, but I do find they rip quite easily.

I find they are harder to rip than the pampers, tesco or asda ones. I also dont think they smell of anything at all, which I like! The pampers ones smell very very chemically.

I want to try the shea butter ones but my OH is allergic to nuts so I can't chance it :(

i made a discovery  they only smell when you first open the packet, a day or two later it wears off but its still nasty lol

I got a load more of the Huggies Shea Butter ones on offer in Asda...2 x 4 packs for £8 so a quid a pack....that's good enough for me as I love them:thumbup:

They had the other fragrances and non fragranced too:happydance:

i love the huggies aloe vera wipes they smell really fresh, i havent tried the shea butter ones, i might have to give them a go

i find pampers wipes really harsh for some reason and i dont use wipes on is face as it gets irritated really easily

I have tried all 3, the pure, aloe and shea and i love them all, they clean Katie really well, they smell gorg and they dont rip.

Katie likes to eat them so does my niece. They both suck the 'juice' out of them.

Clearly both mental:wacko:
