My LO sounds as though he has a blocked nose just at night, he's well and doesn't have a cold. I'm wondering if the air is too dry for him although the monitor says humidity is 45%. Anyway last night he sounded as though he was snoring and kept waking up as whenever he tried to suck anything to soothe himself to sleep he couldn't breathe...

I'm wondering if a humidifier might help and if anyone has used one - did it work? Also I'm totally baffled about warm or cool air ones what works best:wacko:??

Thanks ladies :flower:

I have one (in fact two - one for each child). I'd never be without one. We use it for coughs, colds, blocked noses, even eczema flare ups. We use the Vick Paediatric cold mist one. The cold mist one does not hear the water, so it's safe in baby's room.

I have a Vicks one and it definitely helped DD at night. Well worth it

I have one and have used it for my 4 week old as he has a blocked nose and you can't use anything on him. Every morning he sneezes loads of mucus so I think it works. Mine is a warm air one

We have a cold air one and it's rubbish I think. Didn't notice any difference with it, apart from the baby was freezing cold!

Without wanting to take over your post, can anyone tell me how to use it (ie where to position it) and give me any tips, because mine is the only bad review I've ever heard for them!

We use the Vicks cool air as well, one for each of the kids' rooms.

The best place to put it is on a flat surface across the room from where they sleep. You also want to make sure to clean it regularly. I like to use a vinegar and water solution.

For OP you could also try putting your LO to sleep at an incline.

Howdy!

I need to buy a good brand of humidifier for my kiddos. Would you be able to please give me your best advice in choosing the best one. Much thanks to you in advance.
