So we have been bottle feeding breast milk and breast feeding for the first 12 weeks. 2 weeks ago we transitioned onto aptamil (1/2 breast milk 1/2 formula) for a week and last week went to all formula. So my ds now has a really horrid rash all over his head and side of his face. We went to the drs this morn and got a cream to help it but the dr said that he has a cow milk allergy (as did I when I was a baby). Now to the question, (finally) if we have to go onto hypoallergenic formula what is the ballpark cost for a tin, we live in Scotland. I don't think we can do soy based because my hubby is allergic and ds is under 6 months.

My daughter also most likely has a cow milk allergy but we unfortunately can't get her to switch to hypoallergenic formula. :( We've tried Novalac Allernova and Neocate with no hope. :nope: She has a skin problem that affects nearly her entire body. Luckily with a prescription lotion it's much better under control.
As for the cost - very expensive, here (Germany) - 20-30€ a tin on average depending on which brand. They're only sold in pharmacies. With a prescription they're given for free. I can't comment on your area though.
Good luck! :flower:
