Hypothyroidism

Last month my doctor did a Clomid challenge on me. Taking blood on CD 3, Clomid on CD 5-9, then blood on CD 10 again. The results were that my FSH levels were elevated.

I had a consult with him today to discuss those results and set a course of action. I was advised while I was there that my TSH levels were tested and I have Hypothyroidism. I am now on Levothroid, 25mcg daily, for now. I will repeat the Clomid challenge my next cycle to see if the thyroid issue has anything to do with the high FSH levels, like my doctor suspects.

Anyway, my question is this. Anyone else out there have an under active thyroid with positive results?

Hi - was looking at old posts and found yours...
Did you get an answer to your question - was there a correlation between high fsh and hypothyroidism?
I found out I am hypo only in Sept - have only had chemicals and early MC's...
Have not had fsh tested but curious. Began my meds mid sept.

Hi,
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism over 20 years ago. I recently had cd3 bloods done and my FSH came back as quite low (5.4). I guess if your thyroid levels are controlled properly then your FSH levels may come down. Good Luck xx

Thanks - yes - am controlled now - so what was will no longer be an issue. Just curious to the link between hypothyroidism and miscarriage. I know it can increase your prolactin levels causing annovulatory cycles... But as had several MC's - wondering if it could have been from poor egg quality... Or later the lack of pregnancies - for similar reasons... How exactly does your thyroid cause early miscarriages and implantation failure as I have heard it can do...
Wondering if that is a link - the FSH.
